Three for me on October:
* Star Wars: Jedi: Fallen Order. Great game, especially in terms of production quality. I didn't like the difficulty spikes, and not all of it is evenly balanced in terms of story / pacing / having fun being a Jedi. But still a really, really solid game. Not sure if it's better than a third playthrough (which means you're super powerful) of Star Wars: the Force Unleashed, but it's really, really close between the two of them.
* Halo 5: Guardians
Holding it to the standards of a flagship title, I find Halo 5 uninspired. The single player campaign felt more like a Call of Duty-ish Halo, than like what Halo is supposed to be for me. Technically it's not convincing, the story line is weak. Glad I got this out of the way before Halo: Infinite.
* Assetto Corsa Competizione
I had a racing wheel, played with it for a few hours, and was still several seconds off the pace I can set with a gamepad. Practice makes perfect, but I have found out that I'm not willing to put that time into it. So I sold the racing wheel, and finished ACC's campaign with a gamepad. I had fun, so this was the right choice to make. Plus, now I know that I don't need a racing wheel in my life.
This was a good month for getting games off the backlog.
