Going on now for 8th year! I hope it has helped you as it helped me keeping my backlogs in check while enjoying my games.

Not every month someone will be finishing a lot, as there are months where a person just can't finish anything. Then you got that streak going in another month.

Also, if you plan to replay the game, it is fine but don't repeat it at a later month as first completion is what counts.

Another thing is the criteria of what is considered completed in unclear games such as team based multiplayer games; I would say set a target for that. E.g. I considered Overwatch completed when I reached level 100. Or when I finished story mode (which was a long movie sequence) in Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator. You decide what you consider is completed as long as it is reasonable to a certain extend and correlate-able to a single player experience.

DLC completed at a separate time from the main game and has enough content (+1 hour) can be counted as a separate completion.
Console completions can be accepted as long as the main focus is still PC overall.

Completed Games:
748-Stray
749-Shadow Warrior 3: Definitive Edition
750-Amnesia: The Bunker
751-Cocoon
752-Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun
753-Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun - Forges of Corruption DLC
754-Alan Wake 2: Night Springs Expansion

Sorry for the delay, site was acting up a days when I tried to check in.

Anyhow, June was nice for me with a healthy list of completions:

748-Stray: An on rails cat game. Nice side stuff and overall relaxing. Nice puzzles too. Enjoyed it. Short but fitting length.
749-Shadow Warrior 3: Definitive Edition: This was actually fun and even though people criticized it for being short, I see that it cant get any longer without being boring.
750-Amnesia: The Bunker: You, an underground bunker and a roaming monster. This was the whole game and it was great. Loved it.
751-Cocoon: One button game. Artfully executed. Nice length too. Lots of creative puzzles.
752-Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun: Boomer shooter that feels good playing it. Labyrinthine levels.
753-Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun - Forges of Corruption DLC: This had more emphasis on arena shooter level designs. Not bad and overall good.
754-Alan Wake 2: Night Springs Expansion: This was interesting but not necessary. Nothing scary.

Four for me:
  • Portal (PC)
  • Remember Me (Steam Deck)
  • Halo: Combat Evolved (Easy, Steam Deck)
  • Halo: Combat Evolved (Legendary, PC)
None of these were first-time finishes, so June turned into a replay fest. At least the Steam Deck made two games a bit of a new experience. This also closes my chapter for the Steam Deck, as I can't see myself using it a lot around the house, and it's still worth quite a bit. So I resold it, for a mere €23 less than what I paid for it a few months ago. That's a pretty decent renting price, so to speak.

Halo on Legendary difficulty is practically a different game from its Easy mode, and I wanted to do that just to prove to myself I can still do it. Turns out it's easier than I remember it - experience helps!

Truth be told, June felt a bit like a boring month for me, as I felt unable to pick a new-to-me game and spend time with it. Luckily, I've already made up for it in July, but we'll probably get to notching that one up around mid-August. :p

I'm gonna go with 4.

Days Gone - What this game did well, it did very well. Some things were weird like how fuel cans and generators never run out of fuel but your bike does and how gas stations aren't fortresses but instead fortresses are out in the middle of nowhere, but once you kind of learn how the game is crafted, it does pretty well.

Days Gone: Superfluous stuff - I'm going to count this as a 2nd game because I went back after completing the game and killed all the infestations, all the bounties, all the bad guy camps. 20 or so additional hours; like playing a completely different game without a story objective to stick to.

PolyZen Drive - A disappointing driving game, where each "world" consists of a single 1 to 1.5 minute lap with traffic. Got all achievements.

Dystopika - Not really a game but an interesting concept to play around with, where you can build your own Cyberpunk cityscape, but not enough detail to really do anything with it other than screenshots or cinematic camera movements. Got all achievements.

Five finished.
The Last Cube - Unremarkable puzzle game.
Time Lock VR 2 - Substandard escape room. Rather short too.
Yes, Your Grace - Not too deep but I certainly got involved with the characters.
Stray Gods - Musical visual novel. Not a bad story but the music was rather bland.
SGS Korean War - Pretty traditional turn based wargame. Nothing special but solid enough.

Not actually a great month as I played a lot more but ended up abandoning a bunch of bad or boring games.

That counts as 3 games. Against the rules. :nag:

List Updated!

Just a reminder, I don't enforce any rules for listings. This is meant for your tracking and not a competition. Still recommend guidelines being followed.

One game in June.

Dungeon Defenders 4/10 - This one has been in the co-op backlog for a while. I thought the art style was decent, but as for the game itself I was hoping for better. I just didn't find the tower defense mechanics to be all that enjoyable. The defense strategy really wasn't all that complicated or stimulating and the actual game play where you either shot or swung at enemies also wasn't particularly fun.

There was also the issue (unfortunately common in a lot of games) where normal difficulty was so easy that it was a snooze, but then the next difficulty up was completely impossible. Only in this game it was worse than usual because the harder difficulty was actually not that hard either up until you got to the last wave when the ogre came out. So you spent a lot of time playing through the level without really breaking a sweat, only to abruptly fail on the last wave. Overall it was was just an extremely frustrating and not particularly enjoyable experience. To be fair, this isn't the kind of game my friends and I usually play, so maybe it's just not our cup of tea, but I still can't recommend it. I'll give it a 4/10 at best as we only made it through about half the maps before getting sick of it.
