Do you pay for things with your phone?

nope, prolly never. Dont trust it enough yet. Im a dinosaur tho, still prefer and do alot the old fashioned cash way.
Likewise, I don't like to pay virtually without seeing the physical money involved, unless it is really necessary like buying things online or paying my bills

wait till you move from apple land to road apple land :hmm:

......
I use it at starbucks

My closest starbucks don't take apple pay, have to use their QR code thing

And most places I shop at have the hardware for it, but don't have it turned on by the merchants yet.

I use Android Pay when available. Don't need to fumble with the wallet and security is vastly improved over a plastic card with clear-text magstripe. It also stores electronic versions of those stupid store loyalty cards.

I used Samsung pay a few places since Samsung is the only company that actually does it right. Never set it back up after deactivating it though. That and now that most places require a chip it's kind of pointless I guess, unless this negates the chip.

Yes I use Android Pay pretty much everywhere. Most of the existing EFTPOS card payment terminals in Australia that already supported card based NFC payment have managed to adopt compatibility with Android Pay with what seems like little difficulty.

I've become super reliant on my phone now - I'm in the process of trying to eradicate my wallet completely by taking scans of my remaining cards.

The issue is the support. It isn't well supported enough in a lot of areas to be viable.

If I could simply choose a line of credit (aka "card") on my phone and then tap to pay I'd do it all the time everywhere. Since it is a rare situation that it can be used it is a giant meh at that point. Out comes the plastic instead.

I never use cash any more. Generally it is for suckers unless you are getting a 3+ percent discount for tendering it.

This is supported on the application end, at least with Android Pay. You tap the card you want to pay with. Is this a card or bank limitation?

It's not supported at point of sale by the hardware at the checkout lane. At least not around here anyway. They just barely got chip card support at most grocery stores and retail outlets here. :(

A credit card swipe is very insecure. People steal card numbers all the time that way. Chip is much better. But, Apple Pay is even better as it requires your phone and your fingerprint. If you lose your phone it is useless to anyone. If you lose your credit card, even with a chip, anyone can use it. (Up until you cancel it).
