Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

Despite its tendency to make you jump through hoops before getting to the good stuff, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel delivers where I expect it to as a Borderlands fan. The new gear and low-gravity mechanics mixed with the zany skill trees makes for a fresh experience, and with Jack at the center driving the story forward, you get a deeper dive into the always entertaining, if well-traveled universe of Borderlands.

More of a good thing :D. ****-load of canisters in the prologue. Makes what would otherwise be a 30 minute prologue into an hour-long affair.

edit - opening cinematic is awesome.

This one just doesn't interest me for some reason. I'll probably pick up the GOTY version on a steam sale.

Pretty much my feeling.

First one was fun. Second one... just didn't catch me like the first did.

Thus I'm not overly interested in this one.

Watched a 3 hour stream of it, the players agreed with what it looked like - more borderlands.

A few new game mechanics, a couple new abilities, new crazy looking skins and models... but it's the same borderlands. If you loved borderlands 1 or 2 or the DLC for either... this is the same.

Not exactly the same, but there's no more new to learn getting into this game/ui/controls/mechanics than going to a new area in any of the previous games. For some people that's a great thing, and it still looks like fun to play... but there is really no difference - it is a continuation of what comes before it, not an evolution or reinvention.

Phoned in/cash grab sequel? :p

Ever since Colonial Marines I´m not pre-purchusing Gearbox stuff.

That is what I thought after watching some gameplay video, not really interested. B1 was fun, B2 was getting a bit boring towards maxing the level, this one, really I don't want to play the same game again.

I have the game but am not overly excited to dive into it just yet. Too many other gems to play through right now.

This game is made for guys like me with 300+ hours played on the first two and even though I only got to level 5 last night before I had to go to bed, I was geeking out constantly.

Though I have to agree that if Borderlands was meh to you before, this isn't going to change your mind.

I loved the first one, but the second really turned me off. Even co-op which is really telling - I loved the co-op in the first. Sadly, I'm not seeing anything here that makes me think I would like it more than the second.

Bargain bin purchase later, to save for a rainy day.

I really enjoyed the first game too. There was just something about the second that I didn't like

I find the first one to be enjoyable enough to finish once, but I couldn't endure the second one past the halfway point, as well. I think the issue was that the second was basically the same game as the first one, but with more of everything. This "everything" includes grind -- the awful, awful, grind that it requires even on the first playthrough. Having to clear the same boring map several times to complete inane missions that are supposed to be different, but play all the same.:o
