Best movies to take advantage of surround sound

Only really memorable surround sound moment I got is the first X-Men movie in the theaters, when Xavier does his "over here" routine in Wolverines head.
I acctually looked over my shoulder before I could react.

PLIIz is just a processing technology that expands audio tracks to provide "height", it's not a native audio format on any BD as far as I know.

Bear in mind that to get both 7.1 native sound + DPLIIz, you'll probably need a 9.1-capable receiver (typically your B Speakers are connected as height fronts).

Edit: Not sure if your S5300 receiver does this, it'll probably be surround back OR height front configuration, not both at the same time. FWIW.

Yes, my receiver does support PLIIz and it is either front height or side, not both simultaneously. Thanks!

The shoot out scene in the movie HEAT.

Val Kilmer and that automatic rifle comes out spatially fantastic on a good system.

Yep, may as well test with a good movie and that shootout stands out as seeming realistic in stark contrast to the usual pap. Another good one is The Proposition which also has a memorable shootout at the beginning.

Both Transformers movies sound incredible, and yeah... War of the Worlds is phenomenal with the lightning strikes and then the tripod coming out of the ground & sounding it's horn. The sound of the people popping into oblivion by it's laser gave me the chills.

Oh really It is so much easy possible I seeing Mission Impossible 3 and also getting advantage of surround sound

+1 for Master and Commander. The first couple minutes will really show what your sound system can do. One of the best movie to test your sub.

I have heard great things about U571 too, but I have yet to watch it.
