Best 4k HDR TVs gaming 2017

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot. This is what I am looking for and I am kinda pissed right now because it looks like I might be **** out of luck.

a 42-50" 4k uhdtv for the bed room. I don't really need "smart" functionality but it seems all the good TV's all have Smart apps built into them.

4k HDR low input lag. Basically its for the PS4 Pro and streaming 4k content.

My budget is around 1000 dollars.

So far this seems like what I am looking for:

https://www.amazon.com/Sony-XBR49X8...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=DHDRXH0WM9N4PNNHHYQB

https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN49...21&sr=1-1&keywords=Samsung+UN49KS8000+49-Inch

Anyone have a better suggestion. I have to keep the TV under 50" for spacing.

Buy Samsung. That is what I always say.
Haven't purchased a Sony set in about 6 years. Don't regret it also.

I just picked up the Samsung KS9500 series 65" Quantum Dot display. It is fantastic!

People will tell you OLED and all that crap but honestly, I will never purchase an LG product. I am OK with a "lowly" Samsung instead that will last me unlimited number of years.

I own the UN49KS8000. With game mode on there is only about 20ms lag, and it appears game mode only deactivates the AMP(interpolation) features of the tv.

It is far superior to the listed Sony, as the Samsung is a native 120hz output panel, along with a vastly superior 6900:1 native contrast ratio. That being said, it is a VA panel, so just be aware of off angle wash out. Though if you watch tv like a normal human being you shouldn't have a problem with it.

Normal Human Being

So true. The best remarks are, I bought a curved tv set but watching it from the angle sucks :bleh:

Yep, I chose the KS8000 because the wife wouldn't let me buy the OLED. I whittled it down between the KS8000 and the Vizio P series, and I chose the Samsung because of the sneaky crap Vizio pulled with the 50" and 55" models.

The only thing I don't like about the KS8000, and the Samsung models in general is that the playback timing on sources must be perfect or else you get stuttering. The Youtube app on my Shield TV exhibits this, though almost everything else is good.

Currently the KS8500 is your best bet if you are looking at the high end. Also if you don't want to go for the LG G series.

I have the 65" KS8000. Managed to get it using EPP pricing for $1079 back in December. Nice TV.

Only thing I hate is auto switching/sensing HDMI ports and lack of FALD.

Currently the KS8500 is your best bet if you are looking at the high end.

Only if you liked curved screens.

I have the OLED B6 and I've seen countless LCD, be it LED, edgeLED, Quantum, whatev., they cannot compare with the deepness and vividness of the colors OLED can produce.

The ignorant will tell you that LCD's have far superior brightness over OLED, but what they don't want to talk about is the punch in colors in OLED, the contrast ratio compared to OLED and the color and light bleeding any LCD screen suffers from compared to OLED's.

HDR is far more than peak brightess, it's the difference between dark and light areas. Since all LCD's lack true black, they need to burn your retina with peak brightness to give you any HDR effect. An OLED will be better for your eyes ;)

Because of my temporary set up. I wont be living in this house for more than a year or 2.. I am screwed as far as picking the TV I want. I wanted the KS8000 series and was going to buy it but then I realized the only way I could fit it on my entertainment center was by either taking all of it down and wall mounting it at the very back. Which would not be ideal or by cutting a piece of plywood or something and screwing it down on top of this ungodly heavy bureau so the stand legs of the ks8000 would fit.

So I went to best buy today and I ended up purchasing the X800D 49" from sony because of its stand design mostly and I heard its a decent cheap HDR 4k TV. And I can fit it on top of the bureau without any modifications.

I haven't set it up yet or opened the box.. I am having second thoughts because I misread that it really doesn't support true HDR.. or if it does its bottom of the barrel HDR. At its brightest is 400 nits. According to reviews. But apparently everything else about the TV is fantastic for its price.

But at 850 dollars including tax its cheap enough to hold on to for a couple years and possibly sell it or give it to a family member if I feel the need to upgrade to a better TV.

I am also getting quite a bit of mix views on what to set it at.. and I like a cooler gamut.. apparently HDR moves more towards 6500k levels of warmth.. Any way I will try it out I guess I can return it if I don't like it.

supposedly Samsungs QLEDs will be the best TV's coming from them in 2017.

I would have gone the wall mount route. I also couldn't use the stupid legs on my KS8000, so I bought an awesome gas spring full motion wall mount for $40 at monoprice. Single stud mount, and I can move it up, down, left or right. Could possibly have been small enough to mount through an entertainment center.

If I wall mounted I would have to basically move the Bureau out. And it must way at least 400 pounds. I don't know why that piece of furniture is so damn heavy. Anyway when I move in the next year or 2 I have my glass TV stand its really nice. It just sucks to purchase something of lesser quality because of space issues.

Ditch the Sony and get a Samsung.
Love the OLED comments given guy only had a budget of 1000 bucks

Yea c'mon guys. OLED, even at it's cheapest, is twice his budget still :(

Have the KS8000 myself since Black Friday when Best Buy had a pretty good deal on them. Great TV. Love the 4K, love the HDR when supported. Only issue that I have sometimes is that when using the TV's apps for Amazon, Netflix, or HBO Now, it seems to get confused and locks up a bit, usually opening something else tends to fix it pretty quick though.

Does very well with upscaling 1080p stuff as well.

My last 2 TV's have been LG and have had no issues, OLED is the only way to go if you want the best, You can get the 55" 4K HDR OLED for $1399 onsale these days. You want the best, OLED is it!
