Battlefield V DLSS Tested, The Biggest RTX Fail Of Them All

Also seems a little unrealistic. Training an AI model like this will be required for every single game it wants to be implemented in :\

That's the point of AI dude, it needs to learn before it can act. Otherwise Skynet.

It all begins with a simple little AI designed to make Anti-Aliasing better in video games. Exposed and learning from our games and chat logs, it decides to end us all

with all the games like metro exodus it will just think it is giving us what we want :hmm:

Wait what? I dindu nuffin.

I miss Nvidia's global image sharpening feature. Wonder why they removed it.

It worked wonders in small doses.
Warcraft 3 with 15% sharpening looked crisp without being over the top.

According to Blaire, the latest patch for Metro improves Dlss quality noticeably at 4k and was pleased. Told by Nvidia that an upcoming patch for Battlefield V to noticeably improve Dlss quality is coming.

Blaire tested current Battlefield V with FreeStyle and was improved but still too much softness and still hurts the experience.

I wonder if we'll see followups from those mass of clickbait "DLSS is doom" videos like from hardware unboxed? :bleh:

"Did not expect this"
"Console scaling the new norm"
"Nvidia responds"
"UPSCALING BETTER THAN NATIVE"
"RTX and DLSS with **** IQ" (kind of like that one.... iq...ai...y'know ;) )

It's all **** titles and thumbnails, with first 20s and last 15s being ads and "subscribe, like andxxxx" High priority for a click. I just use Kodi and at least sort out some of the noise, remove all the youtube specific noise and content for youtubers is still allright.

Wow the new yesterday's patch for Metro Exodus has massively improved Dlss quality and exactly matches my expectations. As I imagine, it does not kill too many details compared to native 4K , and anti-aliasing works also much better especially for vegetation/trees and bright/darker pixels "anthills" plants becomes more structure and water-surfaces shimmering effectively removed, so overall image-quality it looks impressive for me. No longer blurr/soft'ish experience.

DLSS on ( good screenshot-Example... please pay attention to marked areas)

So Metro Exodus is finally fantastic playable with an RTX 2080Ti at almost 60fps (4K/DLSS) with the highest Graphics-Settings which includes Raytracing "Ultra", Tessellation, Hairworks+PhysX! That's what I imagine, this is really a good trade-off for such games, which are very demanding on the graphics card.
Performance between 40-50% faster compared to 4K/UHD resolution thats really impressive.

Yesterday I confirmed again by NV-person that Battlefield V should also get a DLSS "quality upgrade" because the current DLSS is not enjoyable and much too smeary, I tested a litte with Freestyle Clarity + Sharpness slider in last night, but I could not achieve acceptable result for me, it seemed too "artificial", far away from natural Look what the Game offers. Even 80% resolution-scaling offers a better result for me. But lets wait until next Battlefield V patches. Next NVIDIA Driver at least doesnt improve IQ yet, from what i could short seen yesterday. New driver are coming out very soon official
