Bad news for the video card scene

You get loads of abuse because you are a show off troll.

Thanks for the Mathematics though.

I don't mean to come over as a show off it's just my sense of humour. I owned numerous AMD mid-range cards over the last decade and it was you that pointed this out to me that I wasn't an elite gamer. I agreed so I did something about it and now I'm a show off troll. It is what it is I guess.

Well your sense of humour isn't working if you are getting "loads of abuse'' on the forum.

I can't remember pointing out to that you are not an ''Elite gamer''. But I know I've never claimed to be one.

I am more like an upper midrange PC gamer(Ati 9800 Pro,4850,5850,7970,8800GTS and now 3070).

It also got you banned so time to tone it down when you return.

Its to the point where even professional cards are being sold out. I am kinda shocked RAM prices haven't skyrocketed and disappeared.

Give it time.

We are experiencing the worst GPU shortage in history, HDD and SSD prices are expected to rise because of storage-related crypto mining, next-gen consoles are still impossible to find -- and now RAM prices are expected to jump by 18-23% in Q2 2021.

Am I glad I got my parts when I did!

there is hope

The bitcoin price has fallen almost 10% since last weekend despite rallying earlier this week amid a slew of positive bitcoin and crypto headlines emanating from the annual Consensus conference. Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency after bitcoin, has lost 50% of its value :yahoo: in two weeks after surging to an all-time high in mid-May.

Same. Shooting for the FTW3 Ultra and hopefully 3080/3090 blocks will fit it, and I'll put it under water asap. Trigger fingers will be ready

Me too, the 3070 is now almost $2k as I'm seeing listing fors $1900 now, and that's just for a basic 3070, not including special editions or FTW ULTRA or whatever.

Like my boss says "things will get worse before they get better. " :bleh:

A 5500xt is 1000 euro / 1200$ in my country :))) The card is 4 times more expensive than normal price.
This means i can sell my vega56 for 1500$ if i want....
I never paid more than 450$ on a gpu and i can sell it now with 1500$ .... Amazing.
I can't stop laughing at the absurdity of the situation.

This timeframe will make into history books...

A good explanation of why it's getting worse and how crypto is exacerbating the issue.

EDIT: And watching the video, it wasn't my imagination as they too noticed the video card prices jumping literally month to month with no signs of slowing down. Instead of waiting for them to get cheaper, they are getting more expensive. I realize that I already have my card as do many of us here, but I still want to prices to go back to MSRP because gamers should have easy access to go buy a card should the one they are using just die on them (those guys I really feel for).

more and more reviewers using and burning up cards don't help either

mining may stop soon if it drops much more
