Completed this 65 hours in, did all quests and explored all areas. It's pretty much a solid 7/10 game which neither excels or flops in any one specific area but is just good enough to fulfill those wanting to play a Skyrim-light type first person arpg (with better combat). The strongest point is probably the level and world design, they did a good job crafting interconnected maps that felt fun to explore and parkour around in (especially with lots of +movespeed gear on). Build variety is great in that you can mix and match from multiple archetypes depending on the playstyle you want and it will be viable. The weakest point is probably enemy variety and "liveliness" of the world, it can feel a bit empty and sparse at times, and when not it's the same mobs you've seen a hundred times before.
For every peak moment or great dialogue - there is an equivalent dull moment and mediocre dialogue - resulting in an average game that's a solid 7. Maybe 7.5 if you stack movement speed gear and parkour around the map like spiderman.
God I'm enjoying the crap outta this. I went all wizard and finding the magic combat to be a ton of fun. That said, I'm definitely giving this a second play through and going all melee, as I enjoy bashing shit about as well
Started getting burnt out on Path of Exile 2 and needed a breather. Decided to join Xbox Game Pass for a couple of months and have started up Avowed. So far I'm enjoying it. Still trying to find my playstyle. So far have been mostly wands with som minor magic, but after getting a nice ice axe, thinking maybje I'll swap things around.
Step into a dark reimagination of Arthurian legends in this first person, open world RPG. Explore a world stuck in everlasting autumn, witness falling legends and make meaningful choices woven into a complex, branching storyline.

Give this thing a try when it goes on sale if you liked avowed.
Don't expect the same kind of polish as avowed though, it's not made by a huge studio.
