Frankly, i think he'd become rather bored of Linux without the need to scream at his computer every 15mins because of a BSOD.

First of all hardware support is awful, fonts incredible awful.
Windows XP is much stable and faster than any linux distribution. I'm runniing redhat 7.3 on my other machine, general OS is slower than previous installed windows XP and crashes. Boot speed also slower.
Also Linux is really unfunkcional. Damn to many **** programs for the same thing.
Well people will say the linux is more secured than windows XP, not true full of bugs. The only reason why is linux more secured than windows platform (2000, XP) is simply because not many paople know about linux.
Going to linux is going 10 years in past...
And Microsoft is the best what could happened for PC industry.
We wouldn't play Doom III without Microsoft, like it or not.
Directx 9.0 etc....
So, i don't know why they sue microsoft for some kinda monopoly, i don't give a **** about netscape or anything also what supposed to replace built in windows programs.
They are shitty dump asses who don't know to make something like windows and than complains about some kinda monopoly.

Depends on what u need from your OS. As a desktop workstation or gaming platform, you are right. WindowsXP is simply better.And quite frankly, most BSD's handle almost everything else better than linux. So yeah linux is not all its made up to be.And the statement about stability simply isnt true. My WinXP box is just as stable as ur average Linux box. u realise most the real crackers not the script kiddys actually use linux?
also linux is more secured that xp and any other ms os because it is open source! alot of programmers/crackers would look threw the source code and find/fix any exploits they see.
also isnt it true that some federal and military instalations use linux because there is alot less chance of being hacked?

I can't seem to get them to work. Here's what I"ve done so far. Download file, convert to slackware tgz with alien. alien -t fglr200-glc22-4.2.0-1.2.0.i586.rpm ; installpkg fglr200-glc22-4.2.0-1.2.0.i586.tgz . File installed. I went into /lib/modules/frgl200/build_mod ; ./make.sh , than cd ../ ./make_install.sh . Ok drm insatlled. X fires up fine but Direct Rendering doesn't seem to work. I see that the frgl200 module is loaded with lsmod. Not sure what else I'm missing. Here's my XF86Config-4 for reference. It seems to be loading things without errors. This mobo is a via kt333, maybe there's a problem with that.
