AMD has a master plan that spells doom to Nvidia

I adjusted my post to add "or on par with the 980 Ti".

A $325 cad with Fury Pro performance would be awesome!

furys are now as low as $450.

next gen same level of performance for $350 ($100 less) is certainly not that much of a stretch

id be willing to even pay $399 for it.

I do feel the tone from both AMD and Nvidia begun to change ...
AMD really wants the people to go into VR thing...I may even call this kinda desperate move...The infrastructure needs to be provided asap. The card may really need a high sustained FPS for VR otherwise the experience may suck big time..Also one has to pay for the VR headset another 599$ or 799$ ... At least AMD will "discount" their cards to offer the infrastructure...You pay premium for the headset..
The prices i got are from this article:

Looking at the overall cost of the VR discounting the card from 450$ to 350$ is not really so big anymore.I smell an 1500$ for a VR ready rig and without games...

A mid tier with or without the VR Headset ... i suppose without
So another 600 or 800$ for headset solely ... That's a lot of money..Only the headset costs as much as a PC...well it's new tech so i won't expect to get "mainstream" too soon but we are getting there...

no, the headset is half as much as the PC.

so $2000 for minimum spec PC and headset.

thats what you are looking at.

This begs the question if VR aware or orientated - what feature will it have to make it VR special? Will CFX be improved significantly for each eye? Hardware to make CFX more transparent to a game (look like just one GPU while the drivers dishes out the frames either in sync if VR to each eye or alternating if not). LiquidVR can help more then just VR in other words.

I am probably more interested in Polaris unique features and software supporting coming this round then the buying one. What it looks like now is Polaris is low to mid-range and won't even compete well against a 1070 (even though Nvidia has been rather non-talkative about the 1070). If Polaris has some very useful CFX new features making it work more times and not is the only way it could infringe on Nvidia high end any.

each eye is rendered independently, so crossfire/sli isnt really much of an issue.

There will need to be a killer app at some point to drive adoption.

as usual, it will probably be porn related.

lol
