2020 Chevy Corvette Stingray

We have a few in the area that have done aftermarket wheels. I will say, the aftermarket wheels make a big difference of the car but it's still going to take some time to get used to....

I'm still trying to get used to it. In some angles, I really like it. Some other angles, I don't. The biggest rub for me is the non-round exhaust tips. Something easy to change, but it's my biggest rub.

I've seen a few on the street and when coming at you, they do resemble a Ferrari.

I wouldn't kick it out of bed for leaving crumbs in the sheets.

It looks like they've completely moved on from anything recognizeable as a Vette, but I do like it.

No Grand Sport? Chevrolet Corvette C8 Reportedly Getting E-Ray Hybrid Instead
Sources from within GM apparently told GM Authority that the blank space between the "base" Corvette (as if you could consider the entry-level C8's spicy performance "basic") and the expected Z06 model will instead be filled by the E-Ray hybrid. The long-expected E-Ray is anticipated to use the Corvette Stingray's 6.2-liter V-8 engine along with a pair of electric motors powering the front axle to both increase power and efficiency. And yes, the E-Ray's layout would also upgrade the C8 from rear- to all-wheel drive.

There's no telling at this moment how much power the Corvette E-Ray might make, but it'll likely be more than the regular 495 hp C8. Figure on somewhere around 550 to 600 hp, which would fit the E-Ray neatly between the Stingray and the 2022 Corvette Z06's expected 600-hp-plus output.

Agree it looks great -- like a super car but I see it and I do not think vette at all.

Yeah I have no attachment to the looks of the past corvettes so the look of this new one is fine to me. I never really liked the signature back end to be honest. I think the front reminds me of a ferrari or some type of euro super car so it appeals to me more.

An electric corvette .... ?? Why even call it a ****ing Vette then.

Tired of these companies butchering long standing names

How does that butcher the name?

I mean I can understand how something like the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross and the Mustang Mach-E butcher the names of their predecessors, but how does it do so in this case?

Likely a ploy to artificially boost their CAFE numbers so they can keep building the 500hp+ V8s. As long as the eVette has enough range to go from the golf course to Cracker Barrel the target demographic should be happy.

what?

Its still a corvette, it just has a battery powerplant instead of a V8.

Unlike the aformentioned Eclipse cross (A longtime subcompact coupe turned into SUV) and mustang mach E (an eletric SUV with mustang styling cues) which are SUV's with the nameplates from established coupes given to them.

Its not any different then dropping a turbo 4 banger in the Camaro or Mustang...just different engine options. You just get the V8 if you want the "real pure" version of it.

Did anyone bother to actually read the article? Or even the headline?

The thing is a Hybrid. The good ol' boy V8 is still there in all its glory.

I'm as fond of Corvette's as the next guy and even I haven't got my pitchfork out yet.

The Corvette is a staple of a monster, roaring V8. Taking that away is a disgrace.

Overclockn' is right though, I got caught up on the headline and didn't read the article. The V8 is still there, the electric motor is supplemental.

caught a glimpse of one in the oncoming traffic lane. looked great. the Z1LEZLE1LZ1 versions are going to be nuts.
