i must say it was a very interesting ride on the ATI Rage Fury but its time to say goodbye. Just got the Guillemont Xentor 32 and it is very nice and fast. Quake 3 runs like a champ. no stuttering 16 bit is very good. I must say if u got the money go buy a TNT2

its not my problem u guys are in denial. Remember i had a Rage Fury too. You just have to see it to believe it u MORRONS!!!!!!!! :)

Kaiser your the only moron in the forum. You have been in here whining and griping for along time and were all frankly tired of it. I read one of your post over a month ago that said you got rid of your ATI Rage Fury back then and that you were signing off. Well, sign the he!! off. Any moron knows a Matrox G400 would of been a wiser choice over a TNT2.

Man thats lame you wasted your money on a tnt2 when the nv10, v4, 128 pro (might be slowest of 3...) are all comming out near end of the year?? Atleast ill keep my ati fury till there IS a video card worth buying. If i had the cash at the moment to waste on a video card, it would be a g400 max.

Well Kaiser, I hope you at least got the ULTRA tnt2, cuz the non-ultra isn't worth the price.

I have a friend who have the same system as me, p3-450, 128mo, sblive, and he has a creative non-ultra tnt2 32mo. We overclocked it to 150/160, and my fury to 108/108. We got the same 3dmark result, and almost the same q3 framerate. I got 36 in 800*600 and he got 37. Ha.

The Unreal Timedemo showed a 4% increase over mine. And d3d games don't stutter anymore on my pc, since the ls6664ci drivers.

We tried Kingpin yesterday and I didn't see any differences except that the colors were a little more bland.

What do I mean with all this? That unless you bought an Ultra tnt2, and overclocked it to 200/220, you are only trying to justify the buying of your tnt2.

In my view, the tnt2 chipset is excellent, and its drivers are a little bit more stable than those of the Fury. But is it worth an extra 150$? No, unless you got the Ultra version.

well jubai im glad someone has the balls to atleast put a descent reply on there. 1st i did get an ultra, its default clock speed it 173mhz core chip 183mhz ram, 2nd unreal is nothing to benchmark because it wasnt made for D3D and until the latest patch comes out no one should put that as a refrence, kingpin runs very good at 1024*768*32 much better and i also see the diffrence in frame rate, im glad i bought a TNT2... i rather get that for 200 bucks when i bought a Rage Fury CRAP for the same price when the TNT2 card has (i know im gonna get something for this) better TV out is much better. I AM GLAD THAT I BOUGHT A TNT2.

Good Kaiser, now go play with yourself. Oh, and with your wonderful TNT2. The more you talk the wetter your foot gets.

Well, quite honestly Kaiser I think you would've been better off to stick with the Fury and wait a while. There ARE better chipsets coming out very soon, and from what I understand even ATI's next-gen chipset is due out around the same time as the others.. (the 128 pro being something to tide everyone over until then?)

You shouldn't trash the Fury though. True enough, the TNT2 is a faster chipset.. I can't deny that having had both the Fury and a Viper v770 (non-ultra) in my machine -- but jubai was right when he said there wasn't too much of a difference. And truthfully, I don't know what makes you think the TV-out on the TNT2 is better :) Fury & G400 MAX are crystal clear on my 45" RCA, while the TNT2 is more then a might fuzzy :)

Well, regardless, the Fury's still a very good card -- something designed to compete with the original TNT still is just as good as a regular TNT2 -- and you shouldn't trash it. I think I speak for more then a good portion of people on this forum when I say that we're happy with our ATI cards :)

But anywayZ.. can anyone tell me how to get my SBLive working in Win2K beta 3? :)

Ha!

ATI's "next gen chipset" will come out at the same time as the NV10 just like the Rage128 came out at the same time as the TNT, and the Rage128 Pro came out at the same time as the TNT2.....

ie: ATI will ALWAYS be trailing by at least 5-6 months. My Rage Fury will stay in my system until either the NV10 comes out, or the napalm, whichever turns out to be better (NV10 is my guess... mmm.. Hardware T&L). After that, goodbye ATI, hello painless installating, guaranteed compatibility and top-o-the-line frame rates. I have been trying to sing the praises of the Rage Fury as opposed to the V3 and TNT2 over the past couple of months... but it just isn't worth it anymore. It is good for what it is... It is sad that such a good product was developed by such a poor company. The Rage128 could have had a bright future.

Bah... I'm happy with it. 'nuff said. :)

Since I'm a lazy ass and don't wanna wait 2-3 weeks.. can someone tell me where I can download the ATI Multimedia Centre? :)

Hi all,
I used to have a fury but sold it for $150 2 weeks ago and bought what i thought was a tnt2 (standard) 16mb Xentor from EB. What the dude ACTUALLY gave me was a Xentor 32, a TNT2 Ultra!!!! And all for only $100. Anyways...There is a difference especially in the higher resolutions. E.g. it runs in 1024x768 pretty much as well as it does in 640x480. Easier to setup also, and the newest drivers are impressive. Is it worth $200? No! The Fury is a good budget multi-talented card as you all know, and it doesn't claim to be the bee's knees in the framerate departement. That said i DO love my TNT2 Ultra ;p

Happy Furying

Whatever floats your boat is ok with me. I'm holdin out for the Geforce.

As for the cost of a new card, I'll get Picard15 above to buy it for me. Since he has a belly full of money I figure he can afford it. But then again, maybe he won't waste his waist full of money on a poor slob like me.

Cheers,
Abudoggie
