Baldurs gate III

Was playing local co-op and there were so many bugs in it (that the single player didnt encounter), as well i was mostly just playing support their character. It was my own fault mostly, it just wasnt fun playing it that way. I should have played it single player first.

I've been trying out a bunch of stuff in act 1, but I'm going to wait a patch or two before starting to play the game for real.

They fix and add so much with each patch that it feels like the retail launch was the starting point of the "early access" polish phase of act 2 and 3.

Baldur's Gate 3 lets you use sausages as weapons, so of course one audacious player built a dual wielding 'Salami-mancer' ready to take on the game's hardest difficulty

...
Though the noble salami's base damage is pretty piddly, it's still a viable delivery method for Baldur's Gate 3's many sources of elemental damage and other on-hit effects. cRPG Bro opts for a Paladin/Warlock/Fighter multiclass not dissimilar to the Oathbreaker Warlock build in our own best multiclass guide.
The Warlock-Paladin combo means tons of casts of Divine Smite augmenting those otherwise-wimpy sausages, while elemental damage gear like the Caustic Band or Helldusk Gloves only further the salami pain train potential. Unfortunately, even though these weapons are as improvised as they come, the salamis don't qualify for bonus damage from the Tavern Brawler improvised weapon feat. Still, cRPG Bro shows off the build working just fine on Baldur's Gate 3's max difficulty Tactician mode.

I'm on the fence with this one. Part of what made Baldurs Gate great was the INCREDIBLE story. Now I have no idea if this game can live up to that or not, but that isn't my concern. My concern is the other part and how they switched to a generic turn based game instead of the turn based/real time mix that made the BG battles so unique, harrying, and ultimately satisfying. It was far more tactical in how to set your units up (or you could go hardcore and play as just one character which I loved to do).

I may pick this game up still when it leaves early access, unless of course it gets slammed hard by player ratings.

I always hated that baldurs gate wasnt traditional turn based game play. I resented wotc for not letting the bioware use turn based. So for me, bg3 being turn based is a blessing. However, the game is excellent, and plenty tactical. I wouldnt be too worried.

I've been enjoying this. Most of the characters are likable so I feel compelled to do most of their quests. Astarion is about the only one I don't like much and since I haven't used him, he basically has no good gear.

Up to Act 3 and sadly it's still fairly buggy compared to previous acts. Random periods of framerate issues (never had them until now), some quests bugged out a bit, quite a few navigation problems with the city folk. Not bad but definitely still a step down from Act 1 and 2. Speaking of act 2, I enjoy it far more than 1 due to the setting and characters. Plus companions seemed to develop a bit more.

But overall very good and up in my top 5 games of the year, but will depend a bit on how act 3 goes.
