Atomic Heart

So you had that look on your face right before you was about to bust a jizz pellet then?

Bad news :(

Atomic Heart will now release in Winter 2022, to be published by Focus Entertainment

Winter 2022 begins on December 21st, 2022, and ends on March 20th, 2023. As such, we can assume that the game will miss its 2022 release date and will now come out in early 2023.

BAHAHA I knew it. 2022 is cursed I tells ya, CURSED

It almost seems like some hidden agenda is at play? I'm not sure I believe the covid excuse considering how the movie and tv industry has moved on from it. Personally I think at least in part its because people want to continue working from home. They simply don't want to be tied to a cubicle any longer. That would make larger teams have a more difficult time with shared presence. Just a thought :)

We're all on a journey to find a more sustainable model, because the idea that everything exists in a virtual space, without human contact, it's not really how we are

I can kind of understand this delay because it's a Russian developer. The STALKER 2 delay is most definitely understandable. A lot of others though are pretty questionable. I can see the ongoing work from home thing being a big reason for the slow as molasses development as of late. I've seen it argued here and there that work from home has supposedly increased productivity. Where I say. I haven't seen any evidence for that, especially in the video games industry. It's just been delay after delay after delay.

Those are good points. I tend to be in the middle of the road with these delays. Yeah, they suck but in the bigger scheme of things there are worst tragedies in the world :). I am disappointed about AH. I was really looking forward to playing it during my convalescence.

It doesn’t affect me as much as I’m not as avid a gamer as some, time constraints and all, but there hasn’t been much new to choose from.

I hope you heal up quickly, whatever it is

100% with you on the work from home being less productive. I see the lack of drive, the lack of results everywhere x1thousand anecdotally.

But the other point you touched on, this being a Russian developer (based in Moscow, even) (and Tencent an investor to boot), they are better to release the game when Western opinion of their nation improves. It will be boycotted otherwise, so better to release it later than now in the hopes that the Ukrainian situation changes.

That being said, didn't these guys relocate to Cyprus or something?

Or was that just some rumor?

I care about the war, but what i dont understand is whats the point of the boycot. The government and the army dont make the games... How is not selling to russia's populace, or ****ing over game devs in russia going to effect the war?
