Where Can I find articles on the Radeon2

There really just isn't anything available.

There has been the occasional ATI roadmap speculation news post both here at Rage3D and at other sites, but beyond that nothing.

look through the news archives here, or try a google search for R200 might turn up something.

The official word from ATI now is that the Radeon II will be 3 to 4 times faster than the current Radeon and will be released in the summer. ATI said they had to change their road map in order to be sure their products offered the best performance on the market.

So it looks like Radeon II has been delayed, but it will be faster than originally planned. Last year ATI said Radeon II would be 50% faster, then they said 2 times faster, now they are saying 3 to 4 times faster. I wonder whats next.

Yeah, the delay has me wondering a bit - like are they trying to get the R200 in a .13um process? Or are the waiting for faster DDR? From earlier info it looked like the R200 was supposed to be sampling in December of last year, so the delay doesn't seem to be long enough for a significant redesign (unless it was begun much earlier and they just didn't want to let on to it). If ATI pulls it off and gets something out early summer, they'd have very a powerful chip on the market.

Thanks diesl.
Sounds like the Radeon2 will own and be very competitive to the NV20. KICK ASS ATI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if Ill be able to afford this radically awesome
piece of styling hardware.

ATI and RADEON2 OWNS ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Speculation

Speculation

They may have mixed up some of their engineering teams during their recent structural overhaul.

Some of the personnel working on the Radeon 3 could now be working on the Radeon 2 instead, thus mixing the technologies.

ATI is on a hiring spree!!!

ATI's Orton said that its new GPU would beat GeForce3's specifications and would offer a programming capability as well. He did not disclose an exact launch date, but said the GPU would be released this year.

They always say that. Let's hope it's true this time.
From preliminary results, the GF3 did not look to be nearly 2x's as fast as the ULTRA...but then again, the GF3 is not an ULTRA type card.

Well, Orton can't be specific for competitive reasons, the GF3 is still unreleased so we can't really do any benchmarks on it right now.

You're right, there's still a lot more room to go with the architechture, same with the Radeon.

The GF3 is that much faster than the GF2 ULTRA in
FSAA x4 but not nearly that in anything else.
The GF3 = Over hyped like nearly all video cards these days.

The ELSA geforce 3 is using 3.8ns DDR. Which would make it faster then then the visionteks that all the hardware reviewers used. The price DDR for video cards has gone down I think. Cause the visiontek and the ELSA are both selling for the same price. And the Visiontek is only using 5ns DDR? That, or 5.5ns. The price drop might be a reason for delaying the R200. Rethinking the engineering. ???? Its possible, I think. :D
