Website critique.

Just wanted to see if I can get a critique of my new website:

http://www.dharrisphotog.com/

It's dedicated to my non-portrait photography. I felt I need to separate the 2 as not to turn off potential clients.

Please give feedback so I can make notes for the next update. I wanted something clean and simple.

Great work on the composition in this shot. You really feel like you're there, on the hunt for the runaway maid.

Well done Sir, you are doing God's work.

 This needs to be posted in da funneh's thread.

Put some kind of a snappy, colorful header across the top of the page.

"Capturing moments at the speed of Life"....kind of thing.

Also, maybe use category icons spaced throughout the viewing area in the center of the page rather than links on the left. It would give it a fuller, more livelier look imo.

Use a translucent blowup of your strategically placed photography gear as a backdrop to kill the rest of that empty space...

Best of luck with the site.

I'm no expert at all but a couple of those B&W shots look like they are good enough for magazines or books...nice work.

His people pictures are the most poignant, IMO. This one speaks volumes about today's society.

Constructive criticism.

Only a handful of the architecture shots are really grade A. Too much of the same. It looks like you're walking around with a stiff neck shooting the sky. Get on top of some buildings/bridges and shoot downard (i.e., toward a dock/industrial area, on top of an apartment looking out over a neighborhood, etc.).

Agreed; the other categories had better shots.

Twist, they are both deaf and dumb and communicate via texting and emoji's to profess their love rather than simply sign language :bleh2:

Your site doesnt work in Chrome for me, the page doesnt fully load and I dont see your photos. The page eventually times out. Works on IE and FF.
My only critic opinion on the page its self is that there seems to be too much open space to the right of things? A tad too simplistic? Almost feels very google/gmail like, not a complaint just an observation.

How you liking squarespace? Since moving over myself ive enjoyed it a lot!

It works fine in chrome on my side.

Check your extensions, they might be messing up the site.

Raz, I like the fact that you have a responsive design implemented, that template itself will help a tremendous amount :)

Constructive criticism time:

- Aesthetics. Double check it, do an A/B test if needed (I am sure folks can help here). Perhaps make the icons a bit larger. Even in the mobile template, they are almost impossible to click. Perhaps scale them larger?
- Apropos of photography. Might be better as apropos photography.
- In the mobile template, the gallery auto-displays nicely and cleanly. Perhaps look into the same for the intermediate templates and full-screen as well? Especially since the gallery icon is so tiny.
