Is there any use for the Pixel Shader 0.5?

And why the GeForce doesn't support Tweening and ARB_Vertex_Blend? are this obsolete features??

I ask this because I have a Radeon 7200 (which I hear supports PS 0.5)
 
There is no such thing as pixel shader 0.5.
The ARB_vertex_blend and EXT_vertex_weighting is pretty much obsolete with the arrival of vertex shaders.

I heard about that obscure version 0.5 that supposely was supported by the original Radeons

I can enbale PS 1.1. through the registry and at least the DX SDK demos work but then it fails when using some of the instructions (cmp, tex... etc)

I guess that the demos are just showing some multitexturing
