Okay, ideally it would come from BestBuy since they're local. Viewing distance varies between 10 (ish) and 16 feet. With the 16' viewing distance the most frequently used viewing distance (like 90% of the time).

Because of that much longer viewing distance, I'm thinking I don't need to chase a super fine 4K display, but should focus on getting the biggest screen possible (i.e. 70" or upwards) and just accept 1080p quality.

Budget is $2,200 ish or less.

Y'all know your ****.

Yeah I figured anything beyond 1080p is useless at 16' but I do use it sometimes at 10' ish. And there's always a chance it could move or something a year or two from now.

But of these options, what do y'all think?

VIZIO - E-Series - 70" - E700I-B3

VIZIO - M-Series 70" - M702I-B3

Sharp - AQUOS HD - 70" - LC-70LE660U

I'm leaning away from the E-Series Vizio due to some of the conversation on AVForums here. With people reporting some problems I'm thinking M-Series or Sharp. I haven't found a Samsung, LG, or Sony screen in the 70" range that is enough under $2k to make things interesting.

If you are leaning vizio, get the M Series. It's their higher end line and usually has better features (more inputs or higher refresh rate). I have a 60" Vizio and its great.

Out of those I'd go with the M702I

We looked at their 75" but that runs $2299 and I was having a hard time justifying what amounts to $600 extra for 5" of screen space. That would have to be some amazing picture quality...

Yeah, once you go 70" or higher they tend to become real pricey! I would recommend the Vizio M-Series a well. Make sure you get it calibrated whatever you do. That goes for every brand large screen TV as well. That savings could get you a nice sound bar.

Thank you for the recommendations and advice everyone. We tried to pick up an M-Series Vizio but unfortunately they are out-of-stock everywhere in Kansas. Apparently. With no expectations that they'll have any back in stock until maybe next week.

While we were there we noticed their Sharp Aquos 70" was on sale on Amazon for $1,599 so $200 off their regular $1,799 price.

So we picked up the last unit in their warehouse and scheduled it for delivery Friday.
