Radeon 2 with two cores !

The thing is, we dont see why rightnow but
Doom3 is comming with 4 times the polygone
count that QuakeIII has.

Then we will see.

Personnally, i just purchased a Radeo32DDR
and it rips my retinas off :)
I cant see how you would need something more.
But i will soon!

Well, the Radeon MAXX has been officially cancelled by ATI. However, the Radeon 2 will b cominbg out soon and is expected to be about 100% faster. Also, the Radeon 3 is expected for a summer release.

But my question is: Will the feature set of the next Radeon (Radeon II or Radeon Pro?) be comparable to NV20? Comdex should be interesting.

Will the first Radeon even hang during those times? When Doom3 comes out & people still has the first Radeon..will it suffer greatly?

Infringement is a b*tch ain't it?

All I want is ATI to have a driver team like Nvidia, so that the performace of their video cards will be comparable. Ive read too many reviews on the web saying 'hopefully ATI's drivers will mature'. However we all know of the past, can ATI deliver the goods to thwart the upcoming Nvidia. To be continued....

IT'S MURDER...trying to defend ATI from their past reputation with regards to driver support (or lack there of from what I've read)!! I only tell folks the TRUTH as I see it (i.e., "if" ATI had poor driver support in the past...it seems GOOD to me now)!!

All "I" know for sure is...ATI's Radeon is a GREAT card and I'm very pleased with the drivers (including the fact that they've been updated a couple of times since the card released).

So far, ATI is seems to be doing all the RIGHT moves to increase their RETAIL AND OEM market share. They just need to keep PUSHING AHEAD and let nVidia and 3DFX try to catch up for a change.

IF YOU KEEP AT IT ATI...YOU WILL BE REWARDED $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!

The next generation video card is the Radeon II and is expected to be 50%-100% faster than the Radeon. There is also expected to be a Radeon II MAXX. The Radeon 3/Pro is scheduled for a summer release.

All we know right now is that it is optimized for DirectX 8 (which is extremely important), and its possible performance. The rest is secret for obvious reasons.

The NV20 has been delayed twice, and is now expected to be released around March. But that could be flak from Nvidia.

I'm sure Doom3 will have settings that allow
640/480 so people with 8mb video cards can play.

It'll just be really crappy.

ATI's driver support for the Radeon has been extremely good. They had new driver releases almost weekly, although that has slowed down for obvious reasons.

I'm very pleased with ATI's roadmap.

Yeah they delayed the NV20 so they can try to copy HyperZ..that's obvious. Will they be successfull?

They have announced their own version of Hyper-Z under a different name. Although ATI has a significant R&D advantage on next-generation products.

Could mean another patent war?

Nvidia's six-month product cycle is based on overclocking, while ATI's is based on new architecture.
