Thymesia - Another souls like (PC exclusive?) 2021

it's from Team17, so it should be a good game. They aren't know for shelling out bad games, but this genre is kinda new to them, so there's that...

I'm not familiar with them, but that's good to know

they're mostly known for their Worms-Games, Overcooked, The escapist, Hell Let Loose, My time at Portia and tons of other games.

Most gamers know them from their earlier games like Alien Breed, All Terrain Racing and Superfrog.

Hell Let Loose is one of the best games made in the last 3-4 years and they've supported it very well.

I'll be pre-ordering. I have confidence in this company to make good decisions even if it's out of their wheelhouse.

yep, it's a really surprising good game.

Ok I see you! Combat actually looked pretty tight. Love the Souls genre so hopefully this will be good.

See you back!

It does look tight, and by the comments on the developer posted here, I'll be playing this. My rig might still be dated at the time, but hopefully it won't kill the experience.

I jumped into the demo for a while.

No graphics options yet, and it really needs them.

The 30 minutes I played > very 2008 look and feel. Movement and combat is very similar to Bloodborne, as is the initial level aesthetically, but the sets and artwork are very dull, bland.

I’ll see what’s further ahead, but this, even taking into account it’s a 3 month early demo, isn’t grabbing me.

Yeah the combat does look similar to Bloodborne, and it appears to be their main influence. I want to give it a try at some point when I have time.

Graphics / aesthetics are not a top priority for me, especially if the combat is fun and addicting.

Agreed, but it wasn’t. I didn’t think to try re-mapping controller functions though. As it sits out of the box, not very good.

OK, well thanks for sharing your impressions which I do value obviously.

Nice of them to put up a demo anyways though, so we can try it. Maybe when it gets cheap enough it will be worth it.

I might give it another go. If I’m being really honest I can see the potential, but I’m obviously going into it with high expectations too. Nioh can’t be beat for combat imo, and even Elden ring’s combat has it’s moments. this just felt clunky.

I think sitting in a chair for a second (This games grace/bonfire lol) kind of turned me off :p

i hated the wonky camera in this one, made me way more mad than the actual clunky controls. It does get better by the end of the demo, but nothing i'd buy and play right now.

It’s a no go for me too. I had high hopes for this one.
