Thief under XP on a fast rig?

RAGE LT MAN

Oh man, you guys remember how old DOS games started to run WAY too fast for their own good on pII's (ie, enemies would run and shoot 50X faster than they did on a 486). Well, thief just did it to me, and i think it's the GF4. All the guards run around like they're on hard uppers, and the fights take a fraction of a second, everything's just so fast. Any idea how to fix it? :(

Re: Thief under XP on a fast rig?

isn't there a program called slomo that slows down your system? I am not sure how it works (if it is a dos utility or what) but you might check it out

WTH? Thief isn't old enough for the same thing that caused this in older games to be the issue, is it? Any game that uses 3D acceleration shouldn't have this problem. Obviously, if you are seeing it, there is a problem...but, man, what could they have screwed up that caused this?

I get the sense that the gf4 is at fault, the TI 4600 is somehow molesting thief into going a lot faster... dunno why :(. i'll check on slomo, thx.
