Key nominations:

Game of the Year : It takes Two
My son and I had a massive ton of fun with this game.

VR Game of the Year: I Expect you to Die 2
This is a great spin on escape room type games. Great story, the humor is fun, and each room is really challenging. Fully enjoyed this game.

Labor of Love: Demeo (VR table top turn based dungeon crawler)
They still make new content for the game, along with updates for new features and bug fixes.

Pretty much just play Destiny 2, so I voted for labor of love. I didn't buy any new games in 2021 other than D2 expansions.

lol, I vote No Man's Sky every year for the labor of love, cause damn it. They're still going strong and they're not charging for updates.

Also criminal that I can't nominate Nioh 2 for both Game of the Year and Game You Suck At awards. Cause it's true.

there were a lot of contenders for that title.

- Omno: For a one-man project it was great.
- It takes two: Great, if not one of the best co-op games i've played so far

and a ton of others

That being said i'd wish we could get another Dragon Age: Origins. I never got into DA 2 and DA 3, i mean i played them, but it somehow wasn't the same experience.

From my library, I have very few games I can nominate. Did they enforce the release year this strictly in previous awards?

So far

The Ascent: Best Visuals
Labor of Love: Blade of Darkness (though this may change to Dying Light or X3: Albion Prelude)
Outstanding Visual Style: The Ascent
Sit Back and Relax: Exo One. Played the demo for and plan to buy full game. Good brainless visual game.

The rest I may randomly pick.

No man's sky got my labor of love vote, and it will keep getting it as long as they keep supporting it the way they do.

GOTY: Life is Strange: True Colors

VR: Dagon (don't play VR games but this was free and good and has VR support)

Labor of Love: Creaks

Better with Friends: Back 4 Blood (could have done It Takes Two here)

Outstanding Visual: Little Nightmares II

Most Innovative: The Forgotten City

Best Game I suck at: WRC 10

Best Soundtrack: FH5 (haven't even played but FH4 soundtrack was good enough for a sneaky nom)

Outstanding Story-Rich: Chernobylite

Sit Back and Relax: Psychonauts 2 (it's a great game and so I had to award it something)

Spent ages thinking it was bugged, til I realized that you can't nom the same game for multiple categories. :bleh:

I would have put up Valheim for several, but also Cyberpunk (for story / art / music but definitely not for GOTY, labor of love etc. Went with story-rich for that one. Valheim takes "sit back and relax" for the sheer number of hours I've dumped into house-building.

Went for Forza Horizon 5 as game of the year, in the end. Just has been captivating, while also looking beatiful as scenery whizzes by at over 100fps. Just don't think the music is up to much - just can't be arsed putting my own music on. Have heard the entirety of the "rock" station many many times.

Labor of Love - Blade of Darkness
Better with friends - Back 4 Blood, if only cus it's total crap solo.
Best game you suck at - Hell Let Loose. Couldn't let it get away with zero noms.
Others - I borrowed some suggestions, as I wanted the free Steam xp but also wanted to reuse my noms. Oh well. makes the votes so legit right?

Labor of Love : Hell Let Loose

Only game that truly deserves it

How do you justify that? The game only came out recently. There are plenty of other games that have been out for years and are still receiving significant updates, patches and expansions...
