I tried a Globwin FOP-38 and the noise drove me insane(r) - 46C O/C 1.1 gig. I put a different fan on it, so it's about the same as a FOP-32, 49C. Try Artic Silver and any good H/sink. CoolerGuys is a good site for H/sinks.

Yah, I have the FOP-38 and I must admit it's way too loud but I'm almost used to it now. Oh well, the thing cost me $50 and I don't know anyone who would want it so I might as well get used to it. It's an awesome cooler I have my t-bird 900@1050 and my temp stays at 37C

The Alpha Pal6036 is, in my opinion, the best Socket-A cooler beside that copper hedgehog thing.

I have a FOP-38 myself and I use foam in the case with my Duron [email protected] and I get temperatures around 38 C. after play games such as UT and Quake3. With the Alpha Pal6036, I usually get around 37 C. after playing games (this is without the foam, of course).

Howdy,
Sorry, I know you don't want the GW FOP38
,but I have one and my T-bird 800 runs @ 1.1 at 48C under full load (with the help of arctic silver) If you can stand the noise, this simply is the best hsf for the socket A.

I think best SocketA cooler is Alpha PEP66T.
It´s a bit expensive, but it´s _very_ good.
You can order modified version for KT7 from Coolputer ( http://www.coolputer.fi )
I ordered my own PEP66T also from Coolputer.

I am using PAL6035-A on a TB800@1000(the cooler is from http://www.coldcpu.com/product.asp?alphacatid=SCK-A) It came with a Delta 38 cfm
fan. You can get a different(smaller, slower) fan if you want. They have different combos. I have ASUS A7V, but i think there should be no problem in fitting the sink onto KT7. The sink is exactly the size of the socket(socket A that is). This is supposed to be the best Socket A heat sink. At least cooling area is largest I have seen. Well... Good Luck :)

JohnM. You said that you are using that Hedgehog. What fan do you have? Is it Delta 38 cfm? If so, what do you think about how it sounds? :) I have this fan and Tornado 1000 case. People warned me about the noisiness of the case, but it cannot be compared to the fan, i think. No i'm sort of like in mission control here :) Well, i guess it cools everything really well. That's what matters.

You could try a super orb. From what I have read they are fairly inexpensive, and perform fairly well and aren't quite as loud as the FOP-38. You might also want to try the FOP-32. Not quite as good cooling as a FOP-38 but lots less noise.

Just got the Taisol 742. This thing rocks. I have my T-birg OC'ed to 1.1Ghz and it doesn't go over 50C, with a queit 30CFM fan. The Fan is so quite that i barely notice it and my case cover is OFF! Though i did hear about it being a tight fit on KT7
