OK i'm verry green with Linux and drivers do not appear to install as easily as in windows. I read the readme file but I just seem to get one error after another, first one is WARNING u don't seem to have the package glx.dri (or something) installed i searched for this pakache before but i can't seem to find it on any of the 7 cd's or DVD. Second problem is that my mouse seems to quit working, i've got a logitech cordless optical mouseman on a USB port, and it worked fine with my Yast configuration. That brings me to my last point. Does installing those drivers screwup all the settings I made with Yast2?

I'd like to ask any one with some time :) and suse 8.0 if they might be so nice to tell me how they installed the drivers.

BTW i've got a radeon 8500LE other specs should be below.

I had that mouse issue when i install the drivers on my Mandrake 8.2. ( I have a Logitech USB mouse ). I had to fix it by going into my old FX86Config and copy the mouse pointer info and then replace that mouse info w/ the FX86Config that the ATI drivers made.
if you look in your X11 dir you should see the old FX86Config that the ATI driver backed up for you.

As for the other errors your getting, I'm not really sure.

I use SuSE 8.0 Pro and am a huge SuSE fan. You need this file...and yes, it says 7.3 but it is also for 8.0.

ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/X/XFree86/XFree86-4.2.0-SuSE/suse73/DRI/xf86_glx-4.2.0-64.i386.rpm

I am currently using the Xig drivers from www.xig.com. I purchased the DX-gold version for 79.00 usd and absolutely love them. You can install the firegl drivers and get pretty good opengl there too. But the xig drivers totally freakin rock.
