ive been using my current system so long due to the lag / delay issues with newer hardware / drivers, but now its time to upgrade. (ill need more power for editing)...

i would like to maintain the option of watching television through my system (no lag would be awesome), but ive fallen behind on what all is out there. i had thought about an older tv wonder card, but someone told me that wont work. i assume because of driver conflicts. i have heard good things about the hauppauge devices, but never actually used one.

so, my question is...what are my best options?

thanks

Where are you getting your signal source from cable, satellite or over the air? Are you dependent on MMC, willing to switch to another bundled application (from another manufacturer) or do you have other third party quality applications that you wish to use for viewing? Are you interested in dual tuners and digital TV as well as HDTV?

What lag were you referring to specifically? A lot of software today use "time shifting" by default which introduces a slight delay.

the signal would be from cable. i dont know for sure if ota will be available where im going.

i would prefer the mmc because i like being able to use the thru-view and set the source as my desktop. but if i cant do that anymore, i guess ill just have to accept it.

if the tuners would be internal i can only use one. this will be going in a shuttle.

the lag i referred to was due to the time shift. (nsp vs sp drivers)
