Strange issue with Chrome - gif issue?

For some reason, Chrome slows to a crawl when loading this page:

Internet Explorer is fast as ever.

Could it have anything to do with that high quality gif in the middle of it?

I have 64 bit Chrome btw.

Have 64-bit Chrome too and that page loads fine for me.

do you have any third party anti virus or security software with a web plug in? If so try disabling that. Also try disabling the phishing protection in chrome, I've run in to a bunch of issues with that.

Try turning off hardware acceleration? Might work.
