soooo, uuuhm, like STO with a bit of a story? :sherlock:

Funny you mention STO because I just got into it (like it a lot, despite the bugs).

I'm only interested in this Trek game if it has space combat or if it's a good open RPG along the lines of Witcher or Mass Effect. If it's just a generic on rails story game, then bleh.

tbh star trek is a decent fit for a telltale experience, lots of choice and moral issues to dive into.

what? You got NOW into STO? Wow, you're a late adapter aren't ya? Enjoy it while it lasts....

I'm still hitting that game up here and there. It's addictive AF.

Got a lifetime subscription on sale for it a few years back and find myself playing at least a few days each month. I've gone through all the story lines so much now that I can repeat it in my sleep but somehow it is still a really fun game to play.

I almost bought the lifetime, but they want $300 for it...a bit steep for me. Even during their sale they still wanted $200, again too much. I might do it for $100 if it ever drops that low, or even $150, but $200+ is just too much for me.

I did however buy a few ships here and there, so I am contributing to the game but yes, it is surprisingly addictive and fun. There are some stupid and annoying bugs though, like when you swap ships random abilities are removed and you have to put them back in because "reasons".

What ship build are you running?

I'm rocking a defiant cannon build right now.

**EDIT: By the way, Q's Winter Wonderland is open again.

I'm not a hardcore player by any means. I'm mostly running a beam Ghemor Cardassian carrier, but it does have two cannons because I cannot afford the omni beams (though I did get one somehow, but don't remember). I've only been playing about a month. The only ship I am DYING to get my hands on is the Kelvin Vengeance class (though the Damar Cardi Dreadnought looks good too). I always loved that ship since the movie, but it's 300+ million creds. It will be awhile before I have enough, and I don't feel like buying keys right now to sell on the exchange so...oh well. Hehe.

I also have a Fed miracle worker Tucker class, an Elachi Qualsh, a Paladin Temporal Cruiser (got that one for free), and on my Klingon I have a Dev Rhall Carrier (actually really have fun with this one).

Only reason I'm playing Kling is to get to level 65 so I can unlock the cross faction ship flying. Only real regret is on my Fed I didn't know what to go as so I picked a Tactical officer. Turns out it's the most boring of the officers, should have went Engineer (did that on my kling and it is much more fun).

And yes, I'm participating in the event so I can get that Eisenburg ship. Unfortunately I started playing the game too late for the previous event, so I was unable to even get the first prize (I was off by ONE FRIGGEN DAY!).
