Hi all,
I made a staggering discovery that I haven't read in the forums before! It seems that when you have Divx 5.0 installed and you have an avi file that uses this codec, you can minimalise your player AND still have the Theater Mode working on your TV-OUT!!!
This all started when some of the files I played I wanted to minimalise so that my girl could watch it on the TV while I had a chance to surf the net. To my surprise it seems that Divx 3.2 encoded or even Divx 4 encoded movies stopped the Theater Mode when minimalising, but this was not the case with Divx5!
Sofar I only have been able to do this with Divx5, mpeg and quicktime still stops the Theater Mode, but who knows......this could be fixed very soon I suppose!
_____________
Another discovery I made while playing with the Tv-Out controls was that you now with the Catalyst drivers can have two primary displays, although the monitors refresh rate drops to 50Hz, this previously was not possible. As a result of this I started testing the Tv-Out the old way, like my Rage Fury. So this meant that I would lower my resolution to 800x600, enable my player to run the file fullscreen (This means at this point you have to turn off the Theater Mode) and THEN play the movie file. And what did I see: NO MORE BLACK BARS!!!
I played Smallville and there was just a very very tiny black bar, but I could correct it using the TV adjustment settings.
Greetings to all and have a nice day!
