Anyone else excited for this phone? I'm hoping T-mobile picks this up. Amazing camera from initial impressions and a great design. Only thing stopping me is the lack of finger print sensor in the states.

Isn't it a good thing to not have a finger print sensor?

I don't think Sony is going to get picked up again in the US anytime soon...

So my wife bought one of these last night, her LG G4 started having issues with the sim card. We got it at Frys open box for under $500. Just like my Xperia Z3, this phone is damned solid, very very nice build, and the OS is top notch. I really don't understand why Sony can't get it together in the US, they hands down make the best Android phones available, IMO.

I like the Z3, but I bought a second one off of Ebay and the cell reception sucks. It took me a couple of weeks to get the phone up and running and realize the problem. I contacted the seller 2 days outside the 30 day return policy and they wouldn't do a damn thing for me. Basically a $150 down the drain, due to the phone being so unreliable.

Sure, sort of my fault, but at the same time, I was just barely outside the return period, and I didn't even want to return it, just get one that worked right. So, seriously, **** Ebay sellers. They know that your negative feedback doesn't do a damn thing (most people won't have problems so they'll have 95% positive), and they don't have to worry about forming a relationship for you because it's not like you'll ever buy from them again. So they just go ahead and treat you like crap, outside of what they're required to do by the Ebay policies.

Anyway... :bleh:

I like the other Z3 I've used, and also my Xperia Tablet Z. I do think the Sony phones are among the best Android phones, so I also don't understand why they've had so much trouble getting traction here.

Sony phones are known for their sturdy cases and phenomenal sound. They are however also know for their kinda hefty prices (at least over here) around 700 bucks for the xz for example. Never had any issues with cell reception though.

The XZ is selling for around $500 now, at least around here. We got ours for $425 or so because it was a scratch & ding open box. It's in almost perfect shape though.

My Z5 was dying probably due to snapdragon 810 heat all those times. Contract was up for renewal, no Sony phone available this time except the cheap ones so went for galaxy s8 plus, miles better.

Does it have a fingerprint sensor? I know some of the other Xperia's only have them in international markets, not in the US.

Sony won't say specifically beyond it being due to a business deal that allows them to sell the phones in the US. Which to me sounds like there is a patent preventing them from using it in the states. But it could be something else *shrug*

Verizon....

i havnet looked into thios phone yet, nice find.
I had a z1 however for about 3 years, and hands down the best phone i have ever had.
waterproof, glass case, fast and smooth, incredible picture quality.

and you could put a custom rom on it! was amazing

got stolen..
so whats this xz? hmmm

It's a damned good phone, wife loves hers still.

Well it looks like I will either be returning it or selling it. Doesn't work with Verizon and the US version can't force LTE to use VoLTE to bypass the lack of CDMA.
