So new system time…

KAC

Whatever
Seems will require

New board
New CPU
New Ram
New AIO
New PSU
New Graphics
New Monitor

About 4.5K will cover it? What are you guys gonna be pumping? If I sell my 2009 Ford Edge I can buy a computer now.

AMD or Intel?

I'm going to wait for reviews before making a final decision but if I were to follow my gut feeling right now I would buy.

AMD 7950X
MSI 670E ACE
64GB Corsair DDR5 6000mhz
Nvidia 4090 24GB
New NVME 5.0 2TB (Not sure on brand and model because it's too early)
Port my EVGA T2 1600 Watt power supply
Port my Samsung EVO 2TB NVME 3.0
Fractal Define 7 mid tower case
Corsair 170I ELITE AIO

So far I've purchased the case, the RAM, and the AIO and I already have the power supply and one of the NVME drives.

You sure we can just port our AIOs? Also what about PSU. I gots a 1300 watts that is about to hit 8 year mark. Shall I continue with it? Disks I have enough. Even PCIe 4.0 is too fast and not used much.

Case I have a Phanteks P500A that I will reuse. Was a damn good case until I lost my mind and bought the Lian Li Evo.

My 4.5K was split like this.

CPU 700
Mobo 300
Ram 300
Graphics 1.5 G
AIO 200
PSU 300
Monitor 1.5 G

Selling old parts may compensate about 2 Gs out of the above.

With AMD you can port your old AIO. With Intel, it hasn't been announced yet but if it requires a new one, I'm pretty sure you can buy an adaptor from Corsair. My 170I Elite is brand new and in the box unopened just in case I need to send it back.

I think a 1300 watt power supply will be fine. If your GPU uses more than 450 watts then you might want to watch it but most likely you will be fine.

I'm still using my LG CX OLED. It will be 3 years old this spring. I've had no problems with it and don't plan to replace it until it gets burn in or has some other problem.

Nobody ever needs to replace parts… I mean games aren’t even using the setup I have today at 1440P.

It's new system time for me. I'm going big.
New Board
New CPU
New Ram
New Cooler
New PSU
New Graphics
New SSDs
New Monitor
New K&M
New Chassis
New Desk
New Chair
New Building electrical standard
New Loan

I'm moving back to AMD. I probably won't be building until next year when all the reviews are available.

Wow, now that's a serious financial undertaking.

After a careful examination of the AMD presentation the lineup looks quite meh. Will see what Intel pulls out of the hat or wait for 3D cache nonsense when it comes out. Which I doubt will be before a year is over (I.e., end of 2023).

That's probably a good call. If you primarily game then X3D will be more beneficial and with a 5900X you probably won't be CPU bound with a 4090 given how ray tracing is bogging down the GPU these days.
