There are a few things which make that device not as attractive for this discussion:

  • Form factor. It's a little larger than the devices we have been discussing. I had a 10" table in the past and found it to be a little too large for traveling. May as well just used a laptop.
  • The Windows platform in the past has had little support for downloading streaming content for offline viewing. Since switch travels a lot, that is likely a key need for his use.
 
I bought one for my son (really the family) and I don't consider it "large" for traveling (I find it quite compact). Given how much Switch travels, he would likely by carrying his phone, his small tablet, and his laptop...3 devices, 3 chargers, etc. Might as well just have one of those big phones if something the size of a GO is considered too big. I"m not disputing anything you've recommended, my travelling is much more limited.
 
I was looking at the Surface Go's -- cool little machines but yea, just a little too big and I don't want windows...

Couldn't find what I wanted so ordered a CHUWI Hi8 SE from amazon for $129 CAD. Will let you guys know. Leave for China on Thursday, better be here before I leave. :lol:

And Mahjik is right -- I just want something bigger than my phone thats android. Stream/download netflix, download/watch movies. Thats it -- no games, email surfing just a little movie machine that is small.

The battery size looks a little small, but I'll be curious to hear/read what you think about it. Should be fine as long as you stick with wired headphones.

I have the 7 and it does exactly what the rest do for way less $$$. it also comes with free movies now pro, if you like old classic movies, tv series/serials and comics of all things. def worth getting
