serious prob, just installed Naval Action

and on entering battle screen flicker a coupla times then turned greyish. alt-tabbed out to look up forum and rig locked up completely. on restarting, windows load screen ran then turned blue with no error text, requiring to restart again in safe mode/networking. anyone familiar with this? ran client in 64, I think. in going into safe mode there are narrow greenish vertical bars widely spread on screen. right now there are fine green horizontal lines surrounding the text box. thx
 
well, tried un/reinstalling both the card from device manager which got me to the desktop, but reinstalling crimson I got the same thing, windows welcome then immediately turns blue no errors. can only access safe mode
 
I don't know the response myself, but to help others help you, can you confirm that the system specs you have listed are for the rig you are having the problems on? Any oc'ing or other tweaks done?
 
slightly o/c'd card, no other tweaks and specs are same. expecting a r9 390x next week. had considered a restore pont, but that can't be undone in safe mode
 
sounds like a bad card, vram maybe

my 4870's did the same when 2 of the vram's got just a little wet from a cracked water block

you might pull the card clean and blow it out good and reseat the card and try it, and maybe try a old card also to check system

Yep.

Also can try stock clocks and see if that eases things back enough to fix the issue. At least temporarily.

does the fan turn ok by hand when off any resistance could be a bad fan bearing
and check the fan plug on the card

but it sound like you will have to wait for your 390x to arrive
 
nope, fan's spun up, just not up to speed. gonna be a long wait till wed at the earliest. googled this and about all that comes up are typical bsod's, which this ain't. I'd go thru msconfig but I gotta die for a coupla hrs before I gotta goto work

edit: as a test I did disable everything in msconfig, restarted and same no text blue screen
