Wccf are predicting an incoming RX490 for December as a hard launch. Could be complete BS who knows! Here's the link http://wccftech.com/radeon-rx-490
This rumor has been around for awhile now, but the speculated RX 490 is just an overclocked 480.
Dual GPU card when SLI/Crossfire is rarely supported anymore
The card is DOA for gamers if it's dual-GPU.
Let's hope it's a well binned RX480 or something to hold us until Vega hits the scene.

I don't think it's going to be dual GPU. If they were going to release a card like that there's no reason they wouldn't have done it months ago, IMO.

The idea is that it be a VR card which tend to have dual GPU support. I'd rather just have Vega come out but we will see

An overclocked 480 at 1080 price? Even AMD aren't that brazen. That's more like Nvidia pricing.
Almost no VR games support multi-GPU. In theory they should because each card could render one eye, but in reality close to absolute none support it. The problem is most VR games on PC are currently small teams and they're just using UE4 or Unity, and they don't have the time, or quite possibly even the ability, to implement multi-GPU functionality, and it doesn't work out of the box.
Maybe it will change going forward, but right now a multi-GPU card for VR would be close to useless.
What if there is actually something between Polaris and Vega?
