I don't think it's going to be dual GPU. If they were going to release a card like that there's no reason they wouldn't have done it months ago, IMO.

Almost no VR games support multi-GPU. In theory they should because each card could render one eye, but in reality close to absolute none support it. The problem is most VR games on PC are currently small teams and they're just using UE4 or Unity, and they don't have the time, or quite possibly even the ability, to implement multi-GPU functionality, and it doesn't work out of the box.

Maybe it will change going forward, but right now a multi-GPU card for VR would be close to useless.

That presumes every aspect of the linked story is true. I find that is rarely the case with rumor articles.

Only game I know that supports CFX and SLI for VR is Serious Sam VR and that is it. I would think this will change over time but now you have a very small audience for VR and then combined that with those that have two Graphics cards - does not look too promising.

Something not on the roadmap? Doesn't happen. AMD is a publicly-held company. They're liable to their investors to provide accurate information about future plans.
