RTCW Refresh Rates Help!

Can anybody help me check the refresh rate of ur monitors whilst in-game (RTCW) please?

@ my desktop when i press the adjustment buttons (for configuring contrast, brightness & etc.) on the front of my monitor (2 check refresh rates) i get 85Hz.

But whilst in-game (RTCW) it shows only 60Hz.

Fellow RADEON n WolfPlayers please help.

Search the forums. There are a ton of threads on this. One solution is to use one of the tweakers avaiable.

This happens with all opengl games in windows Xp. All videocards have this problem with win xp. It is a windows bug.

To solve this without one of the tweaker programs bring down the console in the game and type

r_displayrefresh 85 (if 85 herz is the refreshrate you want) and press enter followed by:
vid_restart press enter

This works with alle games based on the quake3 engine.

It's actually not a Windows bug. It's just a poorly implemented feature. It's up to the game to decide the refresh rate, but no games seem to for whatever reason. In their infinite wisdom, MS decided that it would be a good idea to have 60hz be the default.
