rivian gets fried at an Electrify America charge station

Electrify America has had their share of issues lately, from unreliable chargers that are frequently out of service to chargers that are just weeks old being ripped out and removed with no explanation from the company. Now it appears as though another, perhaps more serious issue can be added to the list, and it is one which is leaving electric vehicle (EV) owners with serious damage to their cars.

looks like electrification of cars is moving along nicely in america

Hmm, news from an opposing charging network.... Still from what I hear the Tesla network is much much better than the others. Clockwork is going to have experience with both networks so will hopefully give us first hand knowledge (unless he just charges at home all the time). MKBHD did a video on his Auto Focus side channel also complaining about bad chargers:

Yeah, 99% of my charging is at home. If/when I end up going on an actual road trip that requires fast charging I will definitely let people know how the experience went. It will probably be sometime in May at the earliest.

The Tesla network is great. Probably the main selling point for Tesla that isn't subjective compared to other manufacturers.

I still believe Tesla is the car to get BECAUSE of the supercharger network. It works. I hear all sorts of horror stories of the non-Tesla network and it seems like they only work half the time, and thats if its working properly.
Its baffiling how something can get be so unreliable. We have a similar example of ESCALATORS in our city. at transit train stations, they almost never work so you always have to take the stairs. If it IS working it'll only work for like a week, then its down for like a month lol.

Tesla may be the car to get have the most trouble free user experience, but i still think Tesla isnt worth the amount of money they command.

At this point that is the only thing they have a leg up on that isn't subjective. With them opening up their network in the US (already happened in several EU countries) this will change. Google Tesla Magic Dock for reference.

The other thing is a lot of money is being funneled into CCS DC fast charging. If you take my state for example, they want chargers every 50 miles (maybe 25 miles) along major interstates, with bills already passed or in the process of being passed to fund it.

I expect things to change very quickly over the next year or two.
