Riven to get a remake with full 3d movement

Yay. Myst in VR was spectacular, and this will offer a path to that for Riven.
 
Can't say I'm enthused, Riven had the most deliberately convoluted puzzles of the entire series. There was one major puzzle that even with the answer key in hand, in made entirely no logical sense how to get there. And that's with the solution spelled out for you.
 
^ I think I ran into the same overly difficult puzzle or one like it. I went on a Myst or Riven newsgroup to get some help but probably depended on luck to get through it. Otherwise you can't proceed further in the map.
 
I found Myst in VR to be far more understandable than the 2d version. I prolly started the old Myst 20 times over the last few decades, but never got more than 20 minutes in. In VR, the whole experience just clicked for me.

Part of it, is that the Myst remake updates a bunch of the designs of the various objects, and in most cases makes them more intuitive/obvious. The puzzles are fundamentally the same, but alot of the janky stuff works better. Hopefully Riven will benefit similarly.

Part of it too is just having a more seamless experience navigating around the game world, and a greater understanding of the space, as well as less friction with basic navigation.
 
myst remake was pretty good. never played the original game so it was cool to dive into that world finally. I'd be up for Riven, especially if it's free on LAME PASS
