Kind of bummed looks like they are skipping Code Veronica. But I guess they want to stick to the mainline RE games for their remakes. Maybe someday.

I hope they keep the shootbang as it was instead of going the re2 remake route where it feels too random.

Did 4 need a remake? It was kind of sort of modernized when it switched up the RE formula.

Because it was considered to be one of the best games in the series (and one of the best games out there period in fact) i would think all it needed was a graphics overhaul. Dont want to muck around too much when the game is as highly acclaimed as it is.

RE1 never got a modern remake (it was already remade once)
and RE0 didnt get one (already graphically identical to 1)

And i suppose 2 and 3 got remade cuz they were so old and tanky.

5 and 6 probabaly doesnt even need to see a remake as its somewhat modern already.

RE4 was remastered, and holds up pretty well on PC. I would say no it does not need a remake. But these remakes are raking in the $ so more power to them.

They also completely skipped RE1, which also was remade for GameCube then that version was remastered in HD. I guess they feel that's good enough? Personally I think that RE1 remake is the definitive RE experience. Lots of other good entries in the series but that first game is just

I suspect they will make it less goofy with the remake, RE 4 was fun to play, but it really wasn't a horror game at all, so they will probably make it more serious and scary with the remake.

Wouldnt that mess with the RE4 formula a bit since RE4 was the one that took RE in the less horror, more actiony direction?

I never played RE4 (wasnt big on the RE franchise) so i dunno how much different it became compared to the older ones.

It would, but that is basically what they did with the RE 2 remake, they removed the camp and replaced it with REAL™ horror, and people loved it.
