I haven't seen any mention of the "green screen" lately, has this been fixed. I still can't capture video. Anyone else with a radeon64 VIVO with the vivo working right??

Neotic, did you find a solution? I've tried install webTV, changing to 16 bit. I know the thing works becasue i can capture in win2K, but some reasen the capture looks more like a slideshow. but it gets the whole image.

I am having problems too. I record something on my camcorder today and then recorded it on the radeon, but when I tried to play it back it told be that file could not be opened. No matter how many times I re-did it. I got it to work in MP1, and it would not let me use AVI.

I do have WEBTV installed, but I like to use that for a TVguide :)

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I take that as a no. anyways i will email ATI again because this is getting frustrating. neotic, I have a temporary solution which I am using. I am taking my home videos and recording them in win2K, which seems to work fine, except playback is very jerky. The recording in MPEG2, AVI and DivX are not affected. I know this is not a good solution, but its the only one i can think of. Unless the Radeon Think Tank can come up with something I am stumped regarding the green screen issue.

Here are my thoughts:
1. Hardware is OK (Radeon 64MB VIVO) because video capture in win2K works.

2. It is not a macrovision or setting issue because i have tried all the settings and several custom settings with various inputs, camcorder, vhs, dvd (macro off).

3. It's possible that the video in record feature is not set up to capture the overlay properly, maybe because the refresh rate is too low at at the capture resolution (640x480)<- just a guess.

4. It is not a universial problem since only neotic and I can't capture video.

5. this sucks

Hi guys, I also am unable to record using the Video in on my radeon. I have Windows ME with webtv installed and the MMC off of the installation cd. I get very quiet/crackly sound and the image is like a no signal ie dark green/black lines across screen. I am connecting to the video in via the supplied scart adapter and get this result from either TV or video. I have not tried the S-Video connector but guess that would do the same. My set up is AX6BCpro gold Mobo, PIII 500, RADEON 64DDR VIV0 oem, Soundblaster Live W Liveware 3 installed Panasonic DVD 403s etc etc. The 3d is fine and DVD playback brilliant and the Video Out and S-Video both work when viewing DVD or desktop on a TV.

Let's hope there's a solution out there somewhere.
As an aside, I had to use PowerDVD to get DVD on the tv as macrovison stops the standard ATI DVD player aoutputting to TV etc.

Hi there ! The problem is with the latest drivers isn`t it ? When I use them I can`t even start the Video-In program.. Using the old drivers included on the install cd gives me the ability to rip images (works) and movies from my vcr.. problem is there are no program that can play the files it creates after the recording is done :( .. I just DON`T get it ?? ATI ??? (or is it just me who is a little more stupid than I like to think ?)

Qbiq,

I am able to capture in MPEG2, AVI ,and DivX in win2K but not in 98. ATI file player can playback all of these formats fine. The most I have recorded is a 30 second clip in DivX to keep file size down. PowerDVD and WinDVD also have the abilty to play MPEG2 files.

oxide, where can i get the Divx codec

I can't get video to work in orginal driver 3056 or 3063. 98SE doesn't like to run my machine (guess its to powerful). I've been running me since beta3 (April i think) anyway i have not had problem with the ATI Wonder, took it back when heard about Radeon VIVO, so i think it has something to do with drivers for Radeon and how it implements the Rage Theater. (No there are no left over files from TV Wonder, did reformat and install of both RC-2 and final since then.)

thanx for info oxide
