Realtek HD Audio Driver Updates

Appreciate the notification. Curious what "Driver - Customizations" means. That's been the only change for several releases now (2.77 added Win 10 support).
Thats been the case for most releases of the driver. Once in a blue moon with there be actual fixes. I do wish Realtek would be a bit more verbose with its change logs but alas :(

2 questions, will this be compatible with my Gigabyte p35-DS3P rev 1.1 board?

mobo stats states its a "8 Channels ALC889A Audio controller" at gigabytes website,
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2533#sp

Im using the audio driver from gigabytes download/support page, 5.10.0.6642 dated 2012/10/25 for my Win 7 64bit OS.

2nd questions, will using the realtec HD be an improvement??

Yes and Yes. How much depends on what you feel is an improvement?

So, have realtek simply stopped updating their drivers? I cannot find any information on the net about anything after 2.79 from last year.

Get with the times old man-chan. All the cool kids these days are using the ftp

Scroll down to the folder named "WHQLed_DRV" and download the drivers within.

Sometimes it wont allow the Realtek HD Audio Manager to partake of an automatic start on boot into windows. If that is the case make a shortcut to the realtek control panel exe named "RAVCpl64.exe" on your desktop > right click the shortcut and add "-s" to the end of the target so it looks like this "C:\Program Files\Realtek\Audio\HDA\RAVCpl64.exe" -s

Then drag that badboy into the startup folder in the start menu.

Boom updated audio drivers.

Thanks sey.

I've been following this thread for updates for a while, since Realtek doesn't seem to want to make generic drivers available on their web site anymore.

Problem with the catalog is i can't use it. It doesn't work for ff or chrome, and it looks like it doesnt even work for edge. I tried it with ie but eeven though my ie is fully up to date, the catalog claims it needs updating and i still cant use it.

Catalog randomly started working, no idea why, but holy crap using it is tedious... you cant even search by company or vender id...

If you are using an asus board, they posted new windows 10 audio drivers last month. (for a lot of current boards that use realtek)

Fixed some audio issues for me on 2 computers, but now you have to plug rear surrounds into the rear plug instead of side plug for 5.1 setups.

Yeah, it seems that they never updated their website but their ftp. Sey had to give me a link and got it working fine.

Yeah, whatever that works...I just execute the setup.exe to run.

:runaway:

They must have revoked access or deleted the credentials for the FTP account that everybody used to use. At least we know the realtek website people are still alive and kicking.

Do you realtek people get issues with mic hissing + low recording volume?

I realize that I was probably not using the best mic, but I had to go back to my soundblaster in order to get rid of it.
