Raid-on Tweaker v3.1 is up. :)

Added support for /private settings.
Added a whole bunch of OpenGL/private setting.
Added the GameGamma DirectX setting.
Added support for customized shortcuts.
You can now apply a profile, set a gamma value, and run a game with boosted priority with just a single doubleclick.
Updated some of the profiles.
Fixed some minor bugs.

As usual, feedback is welcome. :)

When you release an update, my usual procedure is to delete all files from the folder where I store Raid-on and explode the new files into that folder. I just did that with your latest release (v3.1) and found that the "Unreal Tournament [DirectX]" profile was not included with this release. I assume I can just keep the Unreal Tournament [DirectX].profile file from your previous release. Do you have a recommendation on how to install Raid-on? Maybe it would be best to leave the previous release intact and let the new release overwrite the older.

More Profiles?

More Profiles?

I would like to see some more profiles for games like Mechwarrior 4...or maybe a list of games that are suited for which profiles etc.?

Sorry, I forgot that file ... I've uploaded a new zipfile.
What way you install doesn't matter, I always include all files that are needed and I've never removed any files.

I cannot make profiles for games I don't have, and I can't buy every game out there. I can of course download the demos ...
I'll try to include some more profile, but I should point out that making profiles can take some time if I want to get the optimal solution. I've install the Giants demo, so I think I should at least have a profile for that in the next version. It would be a good thing if we did a poll on which games you people want profiles for.

I haven't DL the latest version yet, but I sure like your tweaker. A couple silly questions since I am new to "tweaking"

Under what circumstances do you need to reboot after making changes? If I change from one profile to another, does this require re-boot?

Also, what does it mean to use hardware for GDI?

Do you have any info about the advanced settings. What are the otions as far as values for each setting and what do they do?

DD

ok i just installed the new version--cool. But in the directx settings, AGP texture is listed but there is a dash. It is not listed in the registry. I have been having a problem with agp texture test not being available in dxdiag, this may be why. Why wounld't this be in the registry, and can I go ahead and add it?

I am running the 7078 drivers, Rad 32 ddr, dx8a

most registry settings don't need a reboot. I don't think any D3D or OGL settings need a reboot to function. So you don't need to reboot when loading a new profile.

correct me if I'm wrong :)

When a setting is marked as "requires reboot" you need to reboot, otherwise not.
Hardware GDI means that the standard windows 2d stuff is hw accelerated. Usually it's software driven.
The advanced settings, I'm not completely sure about all those settings myself. But the shaders settings sets which version to use for the shaders 10 = 1.0, 11 = 1.1 ... the hardware isn't 100% compatible with the shaders so enabling it may cause some problems with newer games, but it'll let you run some of the DX SDK samples etc.
And sure, enable AGP textures ... probably wont hurt ...

great work man :) i was just curious where you found the info for the /private opengl settings, and what do they do? i see some overlap with the settings you put under the d3d api, but apply to any 3d rendering, such as the hyperz stuff. i'm assuming the private stuff just applies to opengl... laters :)

Since you ask I guess you haven't read this: http://www.radeonic.com/raidon.htm , or at least not Q nr 3.

It's quite easy to track down the regkeys. Just use a registry monitoring tool. Then start a DX or OpenGL game and see which regkeys the driver requests.

I saw that it searched for a /private subkey, so I added that key to my registry and then it started to request all those /private keys too. There are /private keys for DirectX too, but none of them provides anything that isn't available among the standard keys.

thank ya! i'd never heard of that radeon site... just added it to my bookmarks. in the article you mentioned the radeon gpu docs... have you tried contacting ati for them? i know it's a longshot, which is why i haven't tried myself yet; i'm just curious if i'll be wasting my time in doing so. on the upside, a possible source of information could be the xfree86 project. xf86 4.0.2 includes a radeon driver (finally!), and i'm downloading it right now to start looking for anything their drivers are doing at the hardware level.

Humus - that is one kick ass program.

You've saved me so much time from not having to use regedit anymore, and easily export all my different settings to .reg files.

We have famous people here..Check out the interview w/ humus @radeonic.com...lol..All jokes aside it's a great tweaker..The only piece of the pie missing is O/C Abilities..@ least one we can call our own...

yes, it is a very nice program. Now comparing it to Radeon Tweaker 0.9.0, they both cover just about everything. But where one has strenghts the other has strenghts in different areas. I like the clean-up registry part of Raid-on Tweaker 3.0 + 3.1 and how it tells you which settings it has removed. The profiles are really nice and help a lot. Also the ability to save profiles to html is really a great option. But with the Radeon Tweaker 0.9.0 I have to say that it is much easier to use and understand. When you put the mouse over a setting, it tells you what it is , what it does, and if you should enable it or not. I am sorry that I don't know everything about DX & OGL. I don't know everything about the Radeon and what it supports. So when I look at a large list of settings that can be changed (Raid-on Tweaker 3.0+) I have no idea what they do. All I know is NEVER disable Hyper Z. OTher than that, I am confused. So what i have been doing is using Radeon Tweaker 0.9.0 to set the settings then check it with Raid-on Tweak 3.0 and if something is not working I use Raid-on Tweak 3.0 to flush the registry back to default.
So I'll continue to have both on my system until one has all the features and ease of use then I switch to that one only.

just for the record, version 0.10.0 of radeontweaker is out and supports everything you mentioned above except telling you what settings were removed when you purge the registry. didn't think there was much demand for that, but if people want it... ;)
