I have ATI Rage Mobility M P/M AGP 2X(A21/2) 4Mb in my TIME Notebook P3 700 256 RAM which was working fine, suporting multi monitor, tv out etc since I installed driver XP_5772 over a year ago- no probs.

However, today, notebook screen is very dark, just about see it, however extended montor is ok. The same content is displayed on both screens. When I try to install the Xp_5772 drivers in Update Drivers it reports " Error occurred durring installation of hardware. The service installation section of the INF is invalid" In driver properties it says " The device drivers are not installed (Code28)" Even when disconnecting the external monitoe the notebook screen is very dark.

No matter how many times I try to install the drivers or uninstall/reinstall it reports any error. Any suggestions? Why has this happened sudddenly after working fine for so long?

Try going back to the stock Windows XP driver. Then reinstall XP_5772. You can even update to 5801 is you wish. Sometimes these errors occur for no reason. Once in a while after trying a few drivers, it happens to me also.

Hi Big Z and everybody!

I wanted to download the XP_5772.zip file from your site, but the following Link (http://www.geocities.com/atirpro/files/XP_5772.zip) is not working anymore. I would be very happy if someone could give me a working link.

You mention the 5801 release. I was able to download it from your site. 5801 has only miniport and display, so I can pick the ICD version by myself. Is the 5772 release a complete release (miniport, display, ICD AND Controlpanel)?

I do have an ATI 3D RAGE LT Pro mobile 8MB AGP 2x Chip (A2U2) and I am using the WinXP (German version) stock driver. But my TV Out looks grey and green on my PAL TV screen. Therefor I really would like to use your drivers to check, whether this is driver related or an hardware issue (notebook is kind of old). Maybe I only need to change the settings, but the WinXP stock driver has no ATI control panel.

Thansk for any help!!!

Greetings

I checked most of the links on my site, and they work. Just keep trying. You can also try clearing your history. Geocities isnt exactly the best web host.
Please visit my site and read the information. All of your questions are already answered there.
I will be nice though. XP_5772 is a complete driver.
5801 is a miniport and display driver files combination. It cannot be installed without using another driver as a base. You most likely need to have one of my driver installed before using 5801. This is due to the naming convention that I use. By the way, I tried to stick with the ATI file names for the Mobility drivers.

Geocities is just being dirty.
PAL and NTSC should be supported. I have never had any complaints regarding these items.
It pleases me that you appreciate my site. Thanks.
