Hmm... This one re-introduced the "shimmering" on my C34F791 that was eliminated with 17.6.2.

Then why post in a thread specifically for a new driver?... :bleh: (or even visit)

There are others in this world that still are interested

Falck I am basically expressing my ire at AMD who keep releasing updated drivers with no meaningful improvements for their high-end card the Fury. Yes two years on this is still their high-end card.

Now it's not my fault AMD seem completely inept at producing a new high-end card whilst their main competitor seems pretty adept at it. By now I would have liked to have a Vega card but they aren't available and it's so late to the party it's a bad joke. If they don't produce any updates/improvements for the Fury line it can only mean two things; it's either completely perfect or they now don't give a sh*t about it. Being a Fury owner I know which one is true

I understand what you mean as I'm also an Fiji XT owner. But nagging in a thread on a 3. party forum that someone created about the release of a new driver doesn't help for anything.

That the Fiji isn't mentioned directly in the release notes doesn't necessarily mean there's no improvements indirectly. I believe that since everything is GCN architecture.

TBH Falck I really bought into the notion of HBM and thought AMD would be able to deliver some kind of performance gains through the drivers given the huge bandwidth the card had. It now seems that due to architectural deficiencies elsewhere this has never materialised so HBM for Fury was pretty useless unless of course you bought a Nano.

i wonder if some of the 'tech' in the Fury actually never got enabled because issues

which brings up questions in relation to Vega delays

After trying to use 17.7.1 since release I've reverted back to 17.6.2 because of link problems with my C34F791 that weren't present with 17.6.2 at all.

Anyone else has the C34F791?
