I just bought a new Athlon XP 1800+ and Radeon 8500 128MB for my computer and I'm wondering what score I should expect to get. I don't know currently because I'm waiting to recieve them (bought the stuff on the internet for only $260 total - no oem crap). My setup will be:

*Athlon XP 1800+
*MSI K7T Turbo; 133-(266DDR) Newest Bios 3.4
*Radeon 8500 128MB
*512 PC133 (CAS2)
*9031 Drivers (Unless Updated)
*Windows ME
*Optimal Settings

I have a SDRAM setup so you can use mine as a baseline...not too many SDRAM folks left it seems

Athlon XP1600
512 micron PC133 CL2 SDRAM at most aggressive settings
Abit KT7A (133A chipset)
Ati built 8500 OEM @ 275/275
win 98
9030 drivers (highest score for me)

I get 7705 with the setup above.yours should be a couple hundred points higher than mine just off the processor difference. when I overclock the rig I get 8600-8700 (I forget right off hand). I`ll list the o/c setup too for comparison

Athlon XP1600 @10.5x150 (1575mhz)
512 micron PC133 CL2 SDRAM at most aggressive settings
Abit KT7A (133A chipset)
Ati built 8500 OEM @ 280/330
win 98
9030 drivers (highest score for me)

Please post your results, as I am interested to see how we compare.

Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread but wondering why my score isn't better.
1.4 TBird
512 DDR
Radeon 8500-128Meg AIW 275/275
IBM 60G Deskstar
Win XP
Ga-7DXR MOBO
3DMarks-7450
I was getting a score of 7900 before noticing a new AGP miniport driver, would this lose me 500 points?
Shouldn't I be getting at least another 1000 points?

It all depends, for example, your motherboard may be a little old or may need a bios flash. Also, consider the fact that some parts just don't mesh well with others, this is why u see people with slightly different parts and much different scores. I suggest that u flash your bios, install the newest drivers for all devices, update windows, etc. - that shoud help. But hell, 8000 aint bad anyhow, so it isnt really that big of a deal...

Owww, also, I benched my new comp.; got 8351 marks.

The comp is:

*Athlon XP 1800+ (1.53Ghz)
*Radeon 8500 128 MB
*512 MB PC133
*MSI K7T Turbo-BIOS 3.4
*30gig WD 7200rpm
*Windows ME
*Optimal Settings
