Does anyone know why my dedicated 2k server keeps kicking everyone? from within the server people show up as having a ping of 999, but only if they're outside the LAN on which the server lives. the server is a DMZ machine, so the firewall on my NAT router has nothing to do with it. Any ideas how to fix it? thanks

Maybe you're maxing out your bandwidth. Does it only happen when you've got lots of players? What do you have the sv_maxrate cvar set at?

it happens if there is even one player... as for maxrate, whatever the default is.

That's strange. The only thing I can really think of is to try setting sv_maxrate to around 5000-8000.

EDIT: If you've got a Linksys router, try turning off "Block WAN Request" in the router.

just dawned on me, you're prolly right. if i don't have ICMP coming through my services will get nailed. thanks.
