I have problem with PowerDVD 4 and drivers 903x. When I enable HW akceleration in PowerDVD, screen is black, only sound is going on. Any ideas?
With drivers 9021 and older everything OK.
Athlon XP 1800, Via KT133A, 256 MB SDRAM,
Radeon 8500 LE

The Catalyst drivers, and the set released before that, both fix this issue. (Although they do create another problem where subtitles are not shown in PowerDVD when Hardware Acceleration is enabled)

I have the same problem. When I enable HW acceleration I only get sound and no picture. I'm using Win98SE. This happens with 9031 and 9039 (Catalyst 021).

PowerDVD go for the quality

PowerDVD go for the quality

I found out something new about that PowerDVD Hardware acceleration enabled/disabled feature.

I went to Rage3Dtweak and under DVD/MMC section I ENABLED TVOverscan feature or something (not at my PC at the moment) and picture quality drasticly improved becouse of that in PowerDVD. Picture quality is now like it was with ATI DVD Players. If I enable hardware acceleration in PowerDVD durring that TVoverscan PowerDVD will not work properly (no picture, stuttering picture, skipping frames, strange graphic boxes).

If I have TV Overscan disabled under Rage3DTweak I can enable hardware acceleration under PowerDVD but picture quality is drasticly lowered. It is not smoth clean picture it is somehow jagged.

My suggestion: Enable TV overscan under Rage3DTweak and disable hardware acc under PowerDVD. result is excelent quality of the picture.

Enjoy, D.
