it doesn't work properly under linux??

try running it in linux using Wine. should do the trick...

or does it work fine, but doesn't compile for linux well? i believe that's a code issue, not a compiler issue.

No im not using linux, im using winxp but i need it to output a file in a .pas format tat a linux version of pascal can understand.

and on my version of fpc it will compile fine but if i try to run the program even if its a really basic one its generates a error that runs really fast down the screen

try delphi (POO pascal) , it's 100% compatible with kilyx (kylix or something like that). Both are made by borland , delphi for win and kilyx for linux. I think the personnal version is free.
