Other great deals imho:
* Radeon 32DDR $132 ($162-$30)
* Maxtor 40GB 7200rpm UDMA100 $149 ($179-$30)
* 3dfx V5 5500 $145 ($157-$30)

is it a good deal? i just bought cel633 from them for less then half that price and it's running fine at 950 with stock heatsink. And i get similar performance in most applications. I know that some ppl dont like to O/C their chip, but i wonder if its worth more then double the price for a little better performance. just me tho..

$258 !!! Youre KIDDING right !! thats a good deal ?!
Man I feel like I robbed the cpu store when I bought my 1Ghz Athlon with 3 year warranty for a measly $266 !!
And I have yet to really push the mhz....yet (1185mhz @ 1.65V)!

On the face of it seems like good value until you take into account the 866 runs 133mhz fsb so oc potential (unless you have a very stable mb and quality memory ) wil not be so good , percentage wise.
Staying within the intel stable , at the moment the celerons with there oc potential from the 66 mhz fsb all the way up to 133 mhz with some chips are amazing value .
Performance / cost celerons are better value than piii apart from memory bandwidth where the piii having 256 against 128 cache still wins.

I have to disagree--each of us has our own idea of what constitutes a great deal. And that "great deal" often comes with large quantities of tweaking and OCing to make the deal worthwhile.

With a P3 866 I get the performance automaticaly. Any OCing is bonus material. With Mushkin Rev2 CAS2 memory I'll probably at least get 10% OC which will bring me to around 950MHz (if I even bother).

P.S.: The price is >>>>$228<<<< total. No taxes, no shipping. What is the most you can save? Maybe $100? Whoopie.
