One Plus 5

Supposed to be coming out later this summer.
My One Plus One is showing it's age and has a few cracks in the screen. Anyone else keeping an eye on this phone?

I've had nothing but stability issues with my OPO (CM and now LineageOS) . Given also that O+ phones are pretty much flagship price now with our weak dollar, I don't see the benefit of choosing them over locally available popular brands.

Paid 734 buck for my 3T to my door

Absolutely fantastic phone though ! Kinda regret not waiting for the 5 or the Essential phone...

Not interested if no headphone jack... (not yet confirmed)

I want to have the ability to charge my phone at the same time as listening to music. Is that too much to ask?

What are one + phone? Can someone give a quick lowdown on what these are all about? Did this brand start off from crowdfunding?

To empasise Zero's point, I paid $650 before tax for my HTC 10.

To be fair manga's talking CAD and with exchange, our flagships are closer to $1K. Still, he could've had an S7 for what he paid though the 3T is faster on paper.

I own a OnePlus One and OnePlus 3T [paid 639.00 CDN for the 3T in February-2017].. Both have been excellent phones.

I like the 3T for its secure fingerprint scanner and AMOLED screen [perfect blacks].

Both phones have amazing 3rd party rom support.
I happen to use Sultan CyanogenMod on the OnePlus One and OxygenOS on the 3T.

Look forward to see if the OnePlus 5 is worth an upgrade from the 3T.

These have been the only smart phones that I have ever bought. Before that I owned a Motorola flip-phone.

Offtopic but Quickstrike, have you used LineageOS? If so, how would you compare it to Sultan CM?

I'm not sure about oneplus tbh. I mean i have their first phone, and with stock ROM (COS) i had major issues. 3g/4g could randomly go "lost", so i had to do a reboot every now and then - and no, toggling data on/off or doing anything software wise would not help, ONLY a reboot would. And afaik no update has come out to fix it - and probably wont. At first i thought it was just me but i saw a thread about many others experiencing the same issue with the latest OS updates from all over the world.

I have flashed and used sultan CM13 rom since christmas and havent had that issue once - so its obviously specific to the official ROM for me.

And with them killing support of both oneplus x and 2 like a year after release I dont think i'll try them again - i dont feel confident about their software at all.

But i do think they make pretty phones - the 3T being the prettiest phone I've seen thus far.

Reviews are out and most are extremely positive.
Looks like they tried fudging a couple of benchmarks as well.....naughty naughty

Starting at $650CAD, am I out of touch with reality or does that seem high?

Nice device otherwise, though 1080p screen ftl.

The OnePlus 5 can be ordered in the online shop of the Chinese manufacturer. Official launch is the 27th of June. Prices start from 499 euro (64 gigabytes). The top model with 128 gigabytes of memory and 8 gigabytes of RAM will cost 559 euro

That battery might be a little small :bleh:

Your image is incorrect though, the OnePlus 5 is definitely a 1080p screen. Probably doesn't help that the image comes from oneplus4.org, instead of oneplus.net...

However, at 401ppi, I really don't see how 1080p is a problem.

You're right. Still a very nice phone, especially for the money they're asking for (over here)

The screen is good enough. I'm just saying it's not competitive with other flagship at the same price point screen-wise.

If they actually put a 4k screen or even a 1440p screen on it, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Try doing VR with a 1080p screen then get back to me. Even my S7e's 1440p screen doesn't cut it.
