So I was having some issues and I finally decided.. It's time to reformat. So I did. But now since my reformat for some reason I cannot get the three screens to work anymore. Catalyst will not let me use more than 2. It sees all 3 displays there but whenenver I go to create a group it only gives me 1x2, and 2x1. If I try and extend the 3rd over even it tells me I must first disable another.


What the hell happened? I've tried 14.1, 2, 3 4, and 7. Even reformated again to no avail.

Btw I no longer use the 290s in specs, I use a single 280x now. But it was using 3 screens perfectly fine before. I reformated because I couldn't get 14.7 to install it kept black screening during install and not recovering.

I've now wasted my Friday night trying to figure this out, and I'm stuck. So now I look to you.
 
Had to go back to 13.12, and manually share, then expand in windows. Then I could get it into 3x1 mode.

Tried to update to 14.7 off of it, back to the original problem I had before. Black screen into lock up. Apparently it's an issue with 280x from what I can gather. Since it's a 7970 at heart, it's not meant to work in 3x1 without active adapters. Which I'm not using. And since it can only operate two clock cycles.

So I guess it worked before because I went from the 290s, to the 280x. And something in registry was already set. Huge PITA. But at least for now it's working, but stuck on 14.4.
 
My setup is also 3x1. I don't have problems getting it to work with my 7970. I keep getting a BSOD or driver error though. Right now I have 2 hooked up via DVI and one HDMI-DVI.
 
Still having more problems, now it flickers on the middle screen, constantly crashing in Final Fantasy 14. I eventually folded, and went to two screens. I swear, I've been bitten too many times by AMD drivers. I need to just learn my lesson.
 
Just a FYI, I've had to disable raptr lately also as it was causing some additional issues. Unfortunately it didn't solve all my current issues, but at least I alleviated some of the more recent one's that cropped up.

FWIW another free company members (aka guild) also said they had to disable Raptr to be able to play FF14 otherwise it would crash every 5-10 minutes. I'll try and play with it more tonight, but to be honest. I just want to play lmao. I'm tired of it crashing, I haven't hardly played since Friday because it's been an on going issue.

The new Raptr screen capture, is that 14.7? I haven't used Raptr in some time since it was just an analyzer/optimizer that didn't work very well before. What version did that change?
 
4.0 was a major update. It's not tied to Catalyst releases even though it is distributed in them, you can also download separately.
